WA/DL Capt. Don Knechtges
June 7, 1935 - February 8, 2014
Belated notification with the passing of WA/DL Captain Donald
Francis Knechtges, age 78. I have limited information but from what I could
find, Don was born/raised in Montana and after high school attended Montana
State University on a football scholarship. Don & Jacquelyn were married in
June of 1955 while he was still in college. Don was a USAF veteran. He joined
Western Airlines 03-21-1966 and retired with Delta Air Lines with 25+ years of
service, and was based MSP/SLC. Captain Knechtges is survived by his wife
Jacquelyn ‘Jackie’ Smith Knechtges. I believe the Knechtges had previously
lived in Lewistown MT but more recently resided at
36 Birch Haven Drive, Sagle ID 83860-8803.
