Notification with the passing of retired Delta pilot Captain Donald Gale Linn, age 83.  Captain Linn joined Delta Air Lines 07-24-1961 and retired in December 1994, based 031/ATL.  He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, plus their children and grandchildren.

Obituary................
Donald Gale Linn, beloved husband, father and friend, age 83, of Hendersonville, died July 9th at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.
Don was born in Detroit, Mich.; a son of James Albert Linn and Eleanor Frost Linn, who preceded him in death.
Prior to moving to Hendersonville in 2001, Don grew up on a family farm and graduated from school in Pleasant Lake, Ind. He attended Michigan State University, then entered the Naval Aviator program and flew in Fighter Squadron 11 (The Red Rippers) in Jacksonville, Fla., and later in VR(F)31 in Norfolk, Va., for a total of 6 1/2 years. Don then flew for Delta Airlines for 34 years, retiring as Captain. He was then able to indulge in his love of golf ballroom dancing and travel.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jacqueline of Hendersonville; children, son Mark Linn and wife Debra of N.C., daughter Diana Reid and husband Robert of Tex., daughter Anne Linn and husband Raymond Willemann of Md., and son James Linn and wife Cecilia of Ill.; sister Carol McCauley and husband Ray of Tex., brother Jack Linn of Tex., and sister Linda and husband Larry of Ga.; grandchildren Ryan Linn of Tex., James Linn of Ill., and Eleanor Linn of Ill., brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donald Shomette and Carol of Md., and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Thos. Shepherd's Church Street Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Don's memory be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Shriner's Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
