DL Capt. Merle A. Prestwood

Notification of the passing of WWII veteran B-17 pilot, retired DL pilot and Delta Golden Wings member Captain Merle Prestwood, age 89.  Born in Tennessee, Merle enlisted in the Army Air Corps March 27, 1942.

~ IN MEMORY ~
Merle Alvin Prestwood passed away peacefully at home with his family on April 17th, 2012.  He ws 89 years old.
Services will be held at Bluebonnet Hills funeral home Saturday at 12:30 in Colleyville,TX.
Merle flew B-17's in WW II from 1942-1945, completeing 23 missions including the Berlin Food Drop. After the war he flew for Delta Air Lines for 32 years. Merle was actice in church as a community leader. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Vannie and Walter, brothers Amon and Vernon, sister Avalene, and daughter Jana.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy of 65 years, son and daughter in law Merle and Sharon,  daughter Lana, and brother Pete. 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a host of friends and missed by all.
