WC/RW/RC Capt. William C. ‘Bill’ Feringer

October 8, 1922 ~ December 18, 2012

Word has been received of the passing of Empires/WC/RW/RC early pilot Captain Bill Feringer. I have not been able to locate an obituary in print but I believe William C. ‘Bill’ was born to parents Frederick C. and Amelia Feringer, and that Bill was born/raised in the Seattle area. From what I can determine, his father Frederick C. Feringer, a well-known organist who died in 1933 leaving mother Amelia to raise Bill and his younger brother Frederick Richard ‘Dick’. Dick died in February 2012. Bill was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran having enlisted December 12, 1941. Friends tell us that Bill hired on with Empires Airlines 09-26-1951. Bill would have gone through the various airline mergers...Empires to West Coast to Hughes...and if he retired at age 60, he would have been with Republic Airlines at the time of retirement. Bill was 90 years of age at the time of his passing December 18, 2012. I believe he is survived by his wife Mary and that personal condolences may be sent to their home at 2018 Daren Glen, Escondido CA 92026-1009 ... (760) 480-9308. Service arrangements are unknown.
