NAA/PAA/DL Capt. Donald C. Binard

Update:  Navy veteran Captain Don Binard hired on originally with National Airlines, went through the merger process with Pan American and retired with Delta Air Lines.

NAA/PAA/DL Capt. Donald C. Binard
July 3, 1936 - June 26, 2013
 
Notification of the passing of retired Pan Am/DL pilot Captain Donald Charles Binard, age 76 years and nearing his 77th birthday.  I believe that Captain Binard hired on with Pan American 10-02-1967.  He retired with Delta Air Lines at the mandatory age 60 in 1996, based 030/QNY as noted in the August 1996 issue of DeltaDigest.

Donald Charles Binard, age 76 of Saint Johns, FL passed away June 26 after a six month battle with cancer.  Don is survived by his wife of 50 years, Martha “Cat” Catherine, son Stephen (Jodi), and granddaughters Samantha & Olivia (all of Saint Johns, FL), as well as sisters Sharon(Howard) & Deborah and brother Robert all of Colorado.  Don was predeceased by his mother Catherine, father Charles, and sister Diane.  Don earned an Air Medal while serving as a Naval Aviator and retired as a Delta Air Lines Captain.  Memorial services are to be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.  In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be given to the American Cancer Society or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
