Notification with the passing of NWA pilot Captain Robert Lee O’Connor, age 90.  I believe Captain O’Connor would have retired with Republic Airlines prior to their merging with Northwest. Captain O’Connor was widowed in December 2009.  He had most recently resided at   16255 Coronado Ct.,   Brookfield  WI 53005-3205

O'Connor, Robert L.
October 17, 2013, age 90 years.
Beloved husband of the late Virginia "Jinny" (nee Meyer). Further survived by his dear friends Roberta "Bobbie" (the late Richard) Wagner, Don (Janet) Hurrle, Vic (Diane) Brulc, his faithful Companion "Murphy" and many aviation friends.
Bob was an avid pilot, he started out at the Waukesha Airport, where he owned his private hanger where he built and owned various aircraft. Bob also was a commercial airline pilot and flew for North Central Airlines, Republic Airlines, retired from Northwest Airlines. After his retirement he flew corporate jets for Jack Safro and Roundy's Corporation. Bob was also proud of being a founding member of the EAA.
Visitation will be held on Thursday October 24 from 9-10 AM at the Funeral Home with a funeral service at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, if desired memorials to Elmbrook Humane Society appreciated.

Obituary Virginia E. O'Connor "Jinny" (nee Meyer) December 9, 2009, age 85 years. Beloved and devoted wife of Robert "her Bob Boy" L., for 62 years. Sister of the late Robert (Alice) Meyer. Step-sister of Sandy (Alan) Searing. Dear friend of Marna Moolla and Muriel Patzer. Godmother of Michelle. Also survived by many other relatives and special friends. During WWII Jinny was a teletype operator. After the war, for 7 years she was a caregiver of orphaned infants and young children at the Milwaukee County Home for Dependent Children. She then worked as a nurses aide at The Lutheran Home for 17 years, subsequent to that she volunteered at The Lutheran Home for 20 years. She was a longtime member of Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church, on N. 68th and W. Center Sts., where she regularly volunteered and served on several committees.
