Roberts, age 84. Captain Roberts joined Northeast Airlines 12-18-1957 and
retired with Delta Air Lines in December 1989, based Boston.

Marblehead, MA / Ozona, FL — Edwin "Ted" Campbell Roberts, beloved husband
of Moira G. Roberts, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Sea Coast
Hospice in Palm Harbor, Florida surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 19, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late
Edwin C. and Josephine A. Roberts. Following his graduation from Howe Military
School, he attended Alma College and Michigan State University. In 1952, he
joined the United States Air Force as an aviation cadet and received his pilot
wings (Class 53B) at Webb Air Force Base on March 17, 1953. Second Lieutenant
Roberts reported to his first duty assignment as an F-84F fighter pilot at
Turner AFB, Georgia.
As a captain and Korean War veteran, Ted was initially hired as a pilot
with Northeast Airlines. After Northeast combined with Delta Airlines, Ted
advanced his career and eventually retired as a B-767 Captain after 32 years of
service. As a resident of Danvers and later Marblehead, MA, he was an active
23-year member of the Boston Yacht Club.
Ted was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He
was an excellent father to his children, with whom he took great pleasure in
raising. In addition to his wife, Moira (Mowat) Roberts, recently celebrating 63
years together, he is survived by a daughter, Diane Adams and her husband,
Michael, of Palm Harbor, FL; and three sons, Edwin C. Roberts, Jr. of West
Ossipee, NH, John R. Roberts and his wife, Cathy A., of San Antonio, TX and
Richard W. Roberts and his wife, Melissa, of Coral Springs, FL. Ted was also
"Papa" to eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
