WA/DL Capt. William Guy Givens

Vietnam war veteran, WA/DL Capt. William Guy Givens

November 29, 1938 ~ April 11, 2014

  

 

Word was received last week with the passing of WA/DL retired pilot Captain William ‘Bill’ ‘Will’ ‘Billy Guy’ Guy Givens.  Born/raised in Ardmore OK, Captain Givens was 75 years of age at the time of his passing.  He graduated from Ardmore High School with the class of ‘56 and attended the University of Oklahoma.  Captain Givens was an Air Force veteran.  He joined Western Airlines 01-27-1969 and retired with Delta Air Lines 12-01-1998, based 030/DFW. 

 

We have not yet seen an obituary in print, arrangements to be advised when known.  Survived by his wife Marideth personal condolences may be sent to the family at

I regret that I must inform you and the group of the sad final approach the William (Bill) Givens is currently on.  He had a ruptured aorta almost a week ago and has failed to be able to fight off all the negative things as they continue and thus will be leaving us sometime tonight.  No real plans yet but I am going to give his address for those who would like to write his wife Marideth a note>  1241 Ottinger, Roanoke, TX 76262.  Another sad day for our group of pilots.  I will let you know more when plans have been made.  With tears:  Dale Sticka
