Notification with the passing of retired RC/NWA pilot Captain Edward Leonard Erickson, age 84.  Captain Erickson’s obituary notes that he joined North Central Airlines in 1956 and he flew for 34 years, retiring with Northwest Airlines in 1990.   Services were held in Minnesota on August 27th.

Erickson, Edward L. age 84, of Andover, MN, died August 18, 2014. Ed is survived by his wife, Barbara Mack of Andover; daughters, Kathy (Pat) Pavelko of Chanhassen, Susan (Rory) Beeso of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Eric Erickson of San Diego, CA; step-sons, Daniel (Cynthia) Storkamp of Woodbury, and Darren (Diane) Storkamp of Savage; grandchildren, Michael (Jess), Sarah, John, Tommy, Katie, Jenna, Evan, Taylor, Carter, and Matthew; sister, Jeannie (Cedric) Gelle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Irene Erickson. Ed was hired by North Central Airlines in 1956. He flew as Captain for 34 years with North Central, Republic and Northwest Airlines. After retiring, he became Chief Pilot for AmJet at Anoka County Airport for 14 years. Mass of Resurrection 10:30 AM Wednesday, Aug. 27 at the Church of the Epiphany, 111th & Hanson Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids. Friends may gather one hour prior to Mass at church. Additional gathering of family and friends at Anoka County Airport Golden Wings Museum, 8891 Airport Rd, Blaine, MN Wednesday, Aug. 27 from 4:30-7:00 PM, program at 5:30 PM. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family for the charity of their choice.
