After completing his service in the USAF on Oct 25, 1955, he came back to Atlanta, GA; was hired by Delta Air Lines; and had a wonderful flying career for 34 years! He also met the love of his life, Rebecca Ann Adams, on Oct. 25,1955, got engaged to her on Oct 25, 1956, and they married on May 11, 1957. He and Ann raised their family in Atlanta and were involved in church activities and many social groups. During that time, as ALTA President, he founded The League Play. He also devoted his time to playing tournaments, directing Pro tennis events in Atlanta, and teaching his 3 children to play tennis. He loved the game and realized it truly is a "game for a lifetime!" He retired from Delta in Sept 1990, and Charles & Ann founded Eagle Rest Ministry in the North GA mountains near Dahlonega. They opened their home as the Directors for retreats and Christian counseling, and also enjoyed visits from their 6 grandchildren, especially during Camp MiniPops! He also continued to play tennis tournaments achieving #1 rankings in GA in all age groups between 35-75; and with his son Bud, through Super Senior Father/Son where they won 4 National titles! He was an amazing husband, father, Pops, brother, father-in-law, son, friend, pilot, and mentor to us all; and we will all miss his humor and sweet smile.
