News has reached us with the passing of Doris Hoagland, widow of Western pilot Capt. Bud Hoagland.  Doris was 93 years of age at the time of her passing.  Services are not known and will be advised.  Captain Hoagland joined Western Airlines 08-17-1942 and was based LAX.  Captain Hoagland was born in 1918 and passed in March of 2005.

Doris Maud Hoagland, 93, passed away in Sandpoint on Friday, May 13, 2016.
 
Family services, and inurnment, will be held later in Salt Lake City, Utah.
 
Doris was born on September 25, 1922 in Salt lake City, Utah the daughter of John and Carrie Howick. She grew up in Salt Lake City, graduating from South High School, and married Joseph I. Hoagland, in Pocatello, Idaho on January 1, 1943.
 
During WW II she lived in Edmonton, Canada where her husband was a pilot. Following the war she returned to Salt Lake City, also living in Denver and Los Angeles. The family retired to Hope, Idaho in 1976.
 
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and volunteered, as a mentor, at the Clark Fork High School. Doris enjoyed fishing, sewing, cooking for her family and loved to study history.
 
She is survived by three children Larry (and Ginny) Hoagland in Hope, Idaho; Kaye (and David) Lombardi in Norfolk, CA; Susan (and Harvey) Ruff in Warden, WA; 4 grandchildren Maxwell (and Sandra), Julianne, Lori and Lisa; six great grandchildren Max, Sean, Reeyce, Issac, Avah and Kendall; also surviving is her brother Eldon Howick in Salt Lake City, Utah.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph I, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

 Doris was a resident of Sandpoint, Idaho at the time of her passing.
 She was a graduate from South High School.
 She was married to Joseph.

Obit:  Memorial service for Joseph "Bud" Hoagland, 86, will be held at a later date. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hoagland, who was born in Claytonia, Idaho, died Thursday.  He married Doris Howick in 1943. In 1976 they moved to Hope ifrom Garden Grove, Calif. Mr. Hoagland worked as a captain pilot for Western Airlines for 35 years.   He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Elks. He enjoyed fishing, RC airplanes and hunting.   Survivors include his wife; three children, Larry Hoagland of Duarte, Calif., Kaye Lombardi of Norco, Calif., and Susan Ruff of Warden, Wash.; two grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
