WA/DL Capt. J. Jess Huerta
December 9, 1927 ~ December 23, 2016
We have received word with the passing of Delta Golden Wings member retired
Western/Delta pilot Captain J. Jess Huerta, age 89. Captain Huerta joined
Western Airlines 05-02-1955 and retired with Delta Air Lines in December 1987 as
Captain flying the DC-10s, based LAX.
Arrangements are not yet known.
For those wishing to send condolences to the family, and to
the best of my knowledge that address is

When we hear more as to arrangements we will be sure to pass that

Dear Jess passed away at 6:43p.m. today after fighting dementia for the past
5 years. As you can imagine I'll be busy for the next several days. Will

I was doing some research in hopes to track down you and Jess and came upon the news of his passing almost 3 years ago. I am so sorry for your loss, we loved Jess so much. He was without a doubt one of the kindest people I have ever met. He loved you to the moon and I am sure he is making others smile everyday in Heaven.
