Notification with the passing of Babetta ‘Bobbie’ Barton Pickens, widow of Delta Captain Richard Rowland Pickens who passed in September of 2000.  Bobbie had most recently resided at 7600 Fairway Drive, Diamondhead MS 39525-3435.

Obituary.....................
Babetta "Bobbie" Pickens, age 86, passed away, Saturday, May 20, 2017, in Nashville, Tennessee. Bobbie grew up in Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi, and attended Millsaps College and Louisiana State University. After college, she went to work for Delta Air Lines as a flight attendant and met her husband, a pilot for Delta. She eventually settled in New Orleans and raised a family of three boys with her husband, Richard Pickens. Bobbie also owned and operated a popular arts and crafts store in Metairie, Louisiana during the 1970's. After her kids grew up, she headed to Diamondhead, Mississippi to enjoy her retirement. Bobbie lived in Diamondhead for the last twenty years and cherished spending time with family, friends, and bridge partners. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and her husband, Richard Pickens. Survivors include her three sons and her seven grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of the arrangements.

~ IN MEMORY ~  DL Captain Richard R. Pickens, based MSY
                            December 12, 1929 ~ September 24, 2000
                            Capt. Pickens joined Delta Air Lines 09-10-1956 and was based MSY.
Richard Rowland Pickens, 70, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, in Bay St. Louis.
Mr. Pickens was a native of New Albany and had been a resident of Diamondhead for the past four years. He was retired as a pilot with Delta Airlines and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a Baptist and was a member of Sigma MHI Fraternity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Aubrey and Mary Beulah Rowland Pickens.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Pickens of Diamondhead; three sons, Richard R. Pickens II of New Orleans, Bart Pickens of Perkinston and Cecil R. Pickens of Boston; a sister, Cecile Pickens of Costa Mesa, Calif., and a grandchild.

Interment will be in Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum in Bay St. Louis.
