passing of retired Western/Delta pilot Captain Wallace Hunter Goltry, age 72.
Captain Goltry joined Western Airlines 11-02-1978 and retired with Delta Air
Lines, based LAX.

Wally was always a pleasure to work with, always had a big smile when he greeted you. From Minneapolis to Los Angeles Wally was one of the "GOOD GUYS" who will be missed.

I nevthad the pleasure of flying with Wally because he and I were hired at the same time. But getting to know him during our initial training with WAL was most enjoyable. I extend my sincere condolences to his family.
ReplyDeletePlease... I am an old friend of Wally's when he lived in Minneapolis and started with WAL. We were close during that time. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a great guy. Is someone able to give me the cause of death - at such a young age?!

Wally was indeed one of the good guys. He has been a life long friend. We lived together in Tulsa while going to A&P school. He had to greatest laugh! Wonderful man I miss him.
ReplyDeleteWally was my lifelong friend. We attended spartan school of aeronautics ANP classes together in 1963. For a short time we had a apartment together.

It broke my heart when Nancy called me to tell of Wally’s passing. We worked together and flew together at our last job. We did a lot of laughing. We became best friends immediately. I know Wally is safe and above the clouds now with God. Thank you for the great friendship. I miss you pal. Jim your GEFN that you participated in creating. I’m laughing now…
