DL Capt. Gerard Joseph Derenthal

 

…..please forgive belated notice but we just received this sad news today from family members…….Captain Derenthal joined Delta Air Lines 04-30-1956 and at age 60 retired with Delta.  He was based Atlanta.  Captain Derenthal is survived by his wife Holly and his children.  Please see obituary below.

Gerard Joseph Derenthal age 83 of Wauchula passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in Sebring. He was born December 21, 1931 in Bronx, NY and moved to Wauchula two years ago coming from Navarre, Fl. Gerard Honorably served our country in the US Air Force, he was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Michaels Parris. For 36 years, Gerard was a Pilot for Delta and loved his job, and even build his own flight simulator in his home. He really enjoyed eating good Italian food Gerard was an Artist, and loved painting Landscapes. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph & Adelaide Bonser Derenthal, he was also preceded by all of his siblings. Gerard is survived by his beloved wife Holly Bloom Derenthal , one son Steve and his wife Lisa of Bellaire, TX, and one daughter Linda of Lancaster, PA. one step son Todd Rondone of Racine, WI; and one sister-in-law Beth Gill and her husband John of Wauchula.
