Military veteran, DL Capt. Robert Clark Moore Jr.

December 25, 1936 ~  January 27, 2022

 

Notice of passing……this sad news comes to us from the Moore family…the passing of retired Delta pilot Captain Robert “Bob” C. Moore, age 85. Captain Moore began his flying career as a US NAVY pilot flying the S2-F out of Key west FL He joined Delta Air Lines 03-22-1965 and was based in Atlanta. He is survived by his wife Lynn along with his children, and his grandchildren and greatgrandchild.  For those who may wish to contact the family, whitepages lists their residence address as :  2912 Moccasin Creek Rd.,  Clarkesville, GA 30523.

Robert Clark Moore, Jr., age 85, of Lake Burton, Clarkesville, Georgia passed away peacefully on January 27, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

 

Robert was born the son of the late Robert Clark Moore, Sr. and the late Caroline Thomas Moore on December 25, 1936. He was a member of the Christian faith. In his professional life he worked as a pilot for Delta Airlines. Bob, as all knew him, served his country in the United States Navy where he flew anti-submarine aircraft.

 

In addition to his parents, one brother, George Graham Moore, preceded him in death.

 

He leaves behind his loving wife, Lynn (LeCompte) Moore; one brother, Thomas “Chip” Moore (Sally) of Rochester, New York; his son, Scott Moore (Jennifer) of Tiger, GA; one daughter, Melissa (Missy) Moore Swymer (Rob) of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Pam Moore; four grandchildren: Michelle Johnson, Matthew Imbornone, Caroline Moore, Clayton Moore; great-grandchild, Avery Trotter.

 

There will be a private family service followed by a Celebration of Life at Wildcat Volunteer Fire Department on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 1pm-3pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wildcat Fire Station, 5228 Georgia Hwy 197, Lake Burton, Clarkesville, GA  30523.
