Patricia's obituary

Frisco, Texas

Patricia Lee Barnard (Palmer), 67, passed away June 13, 2025. It seems impossible that another of us is gone. Patricia was born in Augusta, Georgia in 1957 while dad was in the military. Nevertheless, she was a Texas girl from head to toe. Sixth generation.

Tricia grew up in Dallas and attended Lake Highlands High School. While in high school she began flying lessons at Addison Airport. She fell in love with flying and went on to study aviation at Oklahoma University and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Afterwards she began a career as a pilot that started with flying freight to regional destinations at all hours and in every kind of weather and ended with piloting jets for Northwest and Delta Airlines.

Apart from friends, family, and flying, she loved nothing more than travel and animals, especially puppies of all ages. After retiring from flying she moved to Frisco. She travelled to countless destinations around the globe and volunteered at local animal shelters.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, John Barnard, father, Robert Palmer, and sister, Janus. She is survived by her mother, Bee Bee, sister, Jules Setzer and her husband, David, brother Robert and his wife, Melody, and nieces Jordan and Hannah.

She asked that her remains be placed by her family in a private cemetery in the hill country. Memorial service to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wings of Hope, Chesterfield, Mo., or Sisters of Life, Suffern, NY.
