Notification of the passing of Irene Smith, widow of PNA/WA Capt. Philip Howard Smith who died in July 2011. I have not been able to locate an obituary for Irene, nor are we aware of arrangements. We do know that Irene Francey Wellen Smith was born in Belfast, Ireland. She became a U.S. citizen in February 1967 and lived for many years in California prior to her marriage to Capt. Smith. Captain Smith hired on with Pacific Northern 11-02-1946 and retired with Western in 1979 at the mandatory age 60, based SEA. Irene had most recently resided in Normandy Park WA.
