RC/NWA Capt. Frederick Michael Nord 

June 29, 1943 - December 1, 2021

 

As noted in the May issue of The Air Line Pilot magazine’s “In Memoriam” column….the passing of Northwest Airlines pilot Captain Fred M. Nord.  I believe Captain Nord came to Northwest by way of merger with Republic (North Central?) and that Fred is the father of Delta Air Lines pilot Dallas Nord. 

If anyone has more career information to add for Fred, please let us know…..corrections/additions always appreciated.

Obituary : Frederick Nord "Nordski" of Port Ludlow, WA died peacefully on December 1, 2021 at the age of 78.

 

Fred is survived by his children: daughter Kathryn MacKinnon, son Dallas Nord, and grandchildren Zayden and Lachlan. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Nord of 42 years.

 

Fred spent 36 years as an airline pilot, loved fishing, motorcycles, and was loved by many.

Barbara, age 65, died in her home on January 16, 2011 from cancer.
