Marine Corps veteran, DL Capt. W. Larry Whitesell

June 12, 1937 ~ October 13, 2023

From friends and colleagues, we learn of the passing of retired Delta Air Lines pilot Captain Wilbur “Larry” Whitesell, age 86.  Larry joined Delta Air Lines 09-04-1962 and retired with Delta December 1996, and was based PDX at time of retirement. (Captain/Line Check Airman/Instructor MD-11, L-1011, B-727, B-757, B-767 & DC-8, Capt./Copilot or Flight Engineer Dc-3, C-46, DC-6, DC-7, DC-9, CV-340, CV-440, CV-880, CV-990, B-727)

Captain Whitesell had most recently resided in Pattaya, Thailand.  He is survived by his wife and children.  As we receive more information, we will be sure to pass it along to you.
