MAX WAS A JET FIGHTER PILOT, SERVING IN THE 66 INTERCEPTOR SQUADRON, MAX ENTERED THE USAF IN 1952  AS ENLISTED, WHERE HE SERVED AS A RIO.   HE WAS A KOREAN WAR VETERAN, ALTHOUGH WHEN HE RECEIVED ORDERS FOR KOREA, THE CONFLICT HAD ENDED.

MAX WON  NUMEROUS AWARDS IN FLIGHT TRAINING, AS NOTED IN THE AIR FORCE TIMES

MAX WAS A MEMBER OF THE METHODIST CHURCH

MAX CONTRIBUTED TO THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT.

MAX WAS A MEMBER OF THE TEA PARTY PARTY PATRIOTS IN FORT MYERS, FL

MAX WAS A REGISTERED VOTER IN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND POLITICAL ACTIVIST

MAX LOVED FLYING, ENJOYED TRAVELING IMMENSELY , AND LIVED HIS LIFE
EVERY DAY TO THE FULLEST.

MAX WAS IN CHINA, WHEN HIS ILLNESS FORCED HIM TO RETURN TO THE US.

MAX WAS A MEMBER OF THE VENTANA CANYON COUNTRY CLUB, TUCSON , AZ, AND WAS AN AVID GOLFER. HE LOVED THE ARIZONA FOOTHILLS AND WILDLIFE.

HE ALSO GREATLY ENJOYED  THE INDIANA 500 RACE, AS WELL AS THE GRAND PRIX.  HE WAS A LOVER OF SPORTS CARS, ESPECIALLY JAGUAR CONVERTIBLES, THE FASTER THE BETTER.  MAX ALSO WAS A GREAT LOVER OF NATURE, WILDLIFE, AND ANIMALS,  ESPECIALLY CATS, HAVING HAD SEVERAL THROUGHOUT HIS ADULT LIFE.

Dear Friends of Max,

It is with great regret and sorrow that I must inform you that my "dear husband" Max passed away at 8:18 P.M. last evening at Hope Hospice near our home.

He is finally at peace after his long courageous battle with cancer.

I am very grateful that he had such wonderful friends in his life.

Services will be held in Indianapolis, IN.  Max's sister and extended family still reside there.

Mr. George Edward Massey, Sr. age 84 of Moreland died June 9, 2013 while in the compassionate care of the West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange. Mr. Massey was born October 30, 1928 in Shelby County, Tennessee to the late Wakeman Norfleet and Ruby Vivian West Massey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George Edward Massey, Jr. He was discharged from The United States Air Force in 1952 as a SSgt where he served in the 155th Tac Recon Squadron during the Korean War. He also served in the Tennessee Air National Guard. He flew for Delta Airlines beginning in 1956 for 32 years; having started out in the DC-3 and retired flying the L1011. During the years his family lived in the Atlanta area he was active in The Ben Hill Presbyterian Church and was a Scout Master. His interest in vintage aircraft enabled him to donate his Stinson SR-8E Reliant to the Delta Museum. He also enjoyed being a ham radio operator. Mr. Massey is survived by his wife of 63 years, Allene Phillips Massey of Moreland and a daughter, Sharon Massey. His surviving siblings are Gerald K. Massey (and Vivian) of Collierville TN, Robert F. Massey (and Virginia) of Olive Branch MS and Virginia Blevins of Bartlett TN. There is an extended family of nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street where visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 beginning at 12:00 noon until 1:30 PM. Lee Richard Trousdale

Lee Richard Trousdale, 73, of Mercer Island, passed away suddenly of a stroke May 22, 2013, surrounded by family. Lee is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rita, his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Daria, his brother, Greg, his brother- and sister-in-law, Louis and Dee Cella and many cousins.

Lee was born September 20, 1939 in Walla Walla, and raised there. He was introduced when young to guitar, Spanish and ham radio (W7VOL, K7VL), which became lifelong passions.

Lee attended the UW, graduated in 1961, majored in Spanish literature and minored in psychology and engineering. Lee spent his junior year in Mexico City. His interest in international affairs foreshadowed a long career in international business and foreign relations, including with the U.S. Army, Northwest Airlines and Boeing in strategic international sales. He did business in over 40 countries. Later he became British Vice Consul for the Pacific NW and worked at Rockwell-Collins for over a decade, retiring in 2002.

In retirement, Lee enjoyed tennis, ham radio, public policy, travel, friends and family. He was a member of the Mercer Island Country Club, Western Washington DX Club of Ham Radio Operators and Seattle Consular Corps. He recently achieved dual Italian-American citizenship.

Despite battling pancreatic cancer for almost 6 years, Lee was in excellent shape, energetic, playing tennis regularly and full of zest for life. He was very spiritual. While this is shocking, losing Lee at the peak of his game is the best his family could have hoped for. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will never be far.

Lee's funeral mass will take place at St. Monica's, Mercer Island, Wednesday, May 29, 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of life. Lee Richard Trousdale, 73, of Mercer Island, WA, passed away suddenly of a stroke May 22, 2013, surrounded by family.  Lee is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rita, his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Daria, of San Francisco, CA, his brother, Greg, of Seattle, WA, his brother- and sister-in-law, Louis and Dee Cella, of Renton, WA, and many cousins.

Lee was born September 20, 1939 in Walla Walla, WA to Richard and Nina Trousdale.  He attended schools in Walla Walla and graduated from Walla Walla High School, class of 1957, where he was a member of the National Honor Society.  Lee was introduced at a young age to both guitar and Spanish, which would become lifelong passions.  As a child, he took up ham radio (originally operating as W7VOL, and later in life, as K7VL), and even fabricated some of his own ham radio equipment and hi-fi gear.

Lee attended the University of Washington and graduated in 1961.  At the UW, Lee majored in Spanish literature and minored in psychology and engineering.  For his junior year, Lee moved to Mexico City to study abroad.  This keen interest in international affairs foreshadowed a long career to come in international business and foreign relations.

Lee served in the U.S. Army as an interrogator, then moved on to Northwest Airlines’ management program, which included time in Japan.  Lee spent many years in strategic international sales for Boeing, focused on South America.  He did business in over 40 countries.  Later he would become the British Vice Consul for the Pacific Northwest.  Lee returned to his passion for airplanes and avionics at Rockwell-Collins, where he was manager of customer relations for over a decade, and retired in 2002.

In retirement, Lee enjoyed playing tennis, completing his radio conquest of the globe, influencing public policy, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.  He was a member of the Mercer Island Country Club, the Western Washington DX Club of Ham Radio Operators, the Mercer Island Emergency Management Team, and the Seattle Consular Corps.  He also recently achieved dual Italian-American citizenship.

Despite battling metastatic pancreatic cancer for almost 6 years, Lee was in excellent shape, full of energy, playing tennis twice a week, and brimming with zest for life.  He was always a very spiritual man.  While his loss has been shocking and full of grief, losing him at the peak of his game is the best that his family could have hoped for.  He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will never be far from us.

Lee’s funeral mass will take place at St. Monica’s Parish on Mercer Island (4311 88th Ave SE), Wednesday, May 29, at 11 a.m.  A Celebration of Life in Lee's honor will take place later in the day at the Mercer Island Country Club (8700 SE 71st St), at 4:30 p.m., open to friends and family.

Notification of the passing of retired NWA pilot Captain Ronald R. Sisca, age 71.

“Ron graduated from Norristown High School, Class of 1959 and Villanova University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Chemistry and was pre-med, Class of 1963..........Captain Sisca was a highly experienced and professional military and civilian aviator who began his Naval aviation career at NAS Pensacola, Fla. in 1964 as an Aviation Officer Candidate, proceeding to Pre-flight, basic flight training and later to advanced flight training at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas, gaining his Naval Aviator wings in 1966. He then was assigned to a USAF transport squadron at McGuire AFB, flying C-130 aircraft worldwide until that joint UASF/USN unit was disbanded. He was later assigned as a pilot in an electronics communication squadron at NAS Patuxent, Md., until his release from active duty. Once entering the civilian airline community, Ron was a pilot with Eastern Airlines, KIWI Airlines, Zaas Airlines, and later retiring from Northwest Airlines as a Captain........with his airline career, Ron remained in the Navy's weekend reserve component as a transport aircraft commander based at NAS Willow Grove, until his retirement from the Navy with the rank of Captain. During his reserve years, he made several transport missions to and from Vietnam.”

Ronald R. Sisca of Doylestown, died Sunday, May 12, 2013. He was 71.

Ron was the husband of Rebecca A. Sisca. Born in Norristown, Pa., he was the son of Gabriel Anthony Sisca and Italia Maria Marsella Sisca.

Ron graduated from Norristown High School, Class of 1959 and Villanova University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Chemistry and was pre-med, Class of 1963. At Villanova, he participated in The Villanova Singers, Lambda Kappa Delta Fraternity and sang with The Coventry Lads (a folk group with Jim Croce).

Captain Sisca was a highly experienced and professional military and civilian aviator who began his Naval aviation career at NAS Pensacola, Fla. in 1964 as an Aviation Officer Candidate, proceeding to Pre-flight, basic flight training and later to advanced flight training at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas, gaining his Naval Aviator wings in 1966. He then was assigned to a USAF transport squadron at McGuire AFB, flying C-130 aircraft worldwide until that joint UASF/USN unit was disbanded. He was later assigned as a pilot in an electronics communication squadron at NAS Patuxent, Md., until his release from active duty.

Once entering the civilian airline community, Ron was a pilot with Eastern Airlines, KIWI Airlines, Zaas Airlines, and later retiring from Northwest Airlines as a Captain. Coincidental with his airline career, Ron remained in the Navy's weekend reserve component as a transport aircraft commander based at NAS Willow Grove, until his retirement from the Navy with the rank of Captain. During his reserve years, he made several transport missions to and from Vietnam.

Ron's love for Bucks County and his 170-year-old farmhouse led him into a local real estate venture with Weichert Realtors (1987-2007) and Keller Williams Real Estate (2009-2013).

Ron's passions included multiple roles in productions at The Town and Country Players Theater, a cantor at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, singing with The Country Gentlemen and various other choral groups.

He enjoyed traveling the world, gourmet dining with his wife, playing with his grandchildren, gardening, photography, music, and spending time with loved ones.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kristen and her husband, John Abboud of San Diego, Calif.; Scott and his wife, Kimberly Sisca of Doylestown, and Stephanie and her husband, Jason Pojar of Boston, Mass.; as well as his five grandchildren, Simon, Jamison, Josslyn Abboud and Brianna and Mariel Sisca. Ron is also survived by his brother, Girard and his wife, Wila Sisca of Collegeville, Pa.; sister, Valerie and her husband, Bob DiRenzo of Collegeville, Pa., and sister, Stephanie and her husband, Jerry Krause of Golden, Colo. Sister, Gabrielle Beres, is by Ron's side in heaven.

Relatives and friends are invited to Ron's Funeral Mass, 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 17, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, where the family will receive guests from 10:30 a.m., until the time of Mass. A visitation will also be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, May 16th at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. Interment will follow Mass at 2 p.m. in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown.
