News has reached us with the passing of Jacqueline Carr, wife of retired Delta pilot, Delta Pioneers and Delta Golden Wings member Captain Gerald E. Carr.  We understand that Jackie had colon surgery on Monday but was unable to recover.  Jackie passed away Wednesday morning July 15th.

Mrs. Jacqueline Saunders Carr of Peachtree City, GA, died July 15, 2015.
Mrs. Carr was born in Goldsboro, NC, and was a 1944 graduate of Goldsboro High School.
After graduation, she attended Mrs. Crumpers Secretarial School and worked
as a secretary for Signal Radio Supply before her marriage to Gerald E. Carr of Youngstown, Ohio.
She was an active member of Evergreen Church in Peachtree City, GA.
Mrs. Carr is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gerald Carr; two sons,
Michael J. Carr and wife Kristy of Sanford, NC, and Chris B. Carr and
wife Kari of Cornelius, NC; daughter Patricia Bragg and her husband Kenneth,
Jr. of Peachtree City, GA; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She
is also survived by a sister, Sandra Harrington of Hellertown, PA; a brother,
Leland Garris of Portsmouth, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree
City Chapel, on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 4:00 PM.  Dr. David Miller will be officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Evergreen Church,
400 Windgate Road, Peachtree City, GA  30269.

John Taylor will be honored in a graveside service at the South Florida National (VA) Cemetery, 6501 N. State Road 7 (Rte: 441) Lake Worth, FL 33467 on Friday 7/17/2015 at 10:15A.  When you turn into the Cemetery go to the Administration Guard House.   They will direct you to the appropriate of 7 lanes to place your car.  They will provide a leader for a caravan to the gravesite.

The best way to drive to the Cemetery is to take I-95 to the Fort Pierce exit and then transition to the Florida Turnpike.  Exit the Turnpike at Lake Worth Road and proceed west to N St. Road 7.  Turn left on State Road 7 (Rte 441) and proceed south.  The Cemetery will be on your right south of Lantana Road.

John F. Taylor passed away peacefully on Sunday July 12^th surrounded by family.  He is survived by his beloved wife Kathy, brother Jim (Shirley), two sons Bryan and John (Vicki), and grandchildren Grady and Ryan. John was born in 1940 to Clara and John Taylor of Knoxville, TN.  He served in the Air Force were he found his love for aviation. He later earned his A&P license at George T. Baker which led to his first aviation job at National airlines performing aircraft maintenance.  John went on to become a professional flight engineer at National, Pan Am and Delta Airlines with a career spanning more than 33 years.  His passion for aviation would last a lifetime were he continued to fly with a private pilot’s license and build two of his own experimental aircraft.  John and Kathy retired in the Spruce Creek aviation community located in Port Orange where he enjoyed spending time with their many friends that shared the same passion for aviation. John lived a full and rich life filled with travel, food and family.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made to Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange Care Center or the Wounded Warrior Project.  Funeral services will be held at the South Florida VA National Cemetery located at 6501 S. State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33467 on July 17th, 2015 at 10:45am.

         I have been informed by his devoted and gracious wife Erika that a good friend and retired WAL/DAL pilot, Capt C.A. "Neil" Meyer, had passed away on June 26th. Like many of you, I flew with Neil a lot back during my B-727 F/O days. He was always a gentleman, and always enjoyable to fly with. A few of us had joined Neil and Erica at their home for dinner just over a week so before he passed.  Although the ravages of aging had taken some toll on his ability to get around, Neil was still active and a big factor in keeping the Camarillo pilot luncheon group together. His consistent and jovial presence at that monthly event always gave an extra measure of friendship to the atmosphere. I am glad we got to spend this fun  time with him and Erika so close to the end of his life.
Though I personally haven't seen anything on this news from any source as yet I'm sure more will be forthcoming.
Meantime, condolences, cards etc.  may be sent to Mrs. Erika Meyer,   1617 Ridgeway Dr.   Glendale, Ca.  91202-1218.  Thanks.
