Captain Jack Cantrell passed on 2-18-2016. Delta Golden Wings member. He was about 92 years old. Write up in the Atlanta paper.   Julian

CANTRELL, Jack Jack Cantrell earned his final and most glorious set of wings on Thursday, February 18th. Jack died in his home in Duluth Georgia with his daughters and grandchildren at his side. Born in Atlanta to Chlothhilde and William Moreland on September 15, 1923. Jack married the love of his life twice. They eloped September 30, 1942 before Jack entered the Navy. On August 8, 1944 they wed after dad earned his first pair of wings in Pensacola Florida. Married until Ann's passing May 19, 2012. Their love story created eleven children, 26 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Jack Moreland, Patricia Irene, Carol Ann, Susan Allen, Diane Gay, Carter Holloway, Karen Marie, Connie Lynn, Stephen Scott, Leslie Kay and Ansley Paige. After the Navy, World War II and the Korean War, Jack and Ann returned to Atlanta where their lives were rich with children, Braves Games, travel and DELTA AIRLINES. Captain Jack treated his family to Disney World and Land as well as numerous experiences flying all over the country. His undying love and devotion to his wife and children made this legendary family thrive. In appreciation of Jack's love and devotion for children the family appreciates donations to Angel Flight Foundation, headed up by his first born, Jack, and to the Childrens Hospital of Atlanta. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday February 21, 2016. 

Visitors are welcome at 1:00 at the Sandy Springs Chapel. The service will begin at 2:00. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy. Sandy Springs, Ga. 30328

Robert Anthony Rogers

Robert Anthony Rogers, 61, of Roswell, GA, passed away February 10, 2016. He was born in El Paso, Texas on May 21, 1954. Bob graduated from Hialeah High School and then Florida State University. He was married to Leslie on December 4, 1993. Following in his father's footsteps, Bob has been a pilot for most of his life. His dream career started with the United States Air Force, and this year celebrates Bob's 30 year anniversary with Delta Air Lines.

He was a member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. His passion for golf and tennis was well known. He played golf frequently, visiting greens around the world. His forehand return was by some accounts as fearsome and menacing as Federer's. However, win or lose, with Bob it was always just a game with good fun and laughter. Bob never visited anyone empty handed and would often surprise friends and family with rare and cherished gifts such as collectible beer steins, exotic scotches and spirits acquired during his global adventures. His zeal for life, big, infectious smile and warm, booming voice will be missed.

Bob is survived by his wife, Leslie, and children Élan Hailey (Chris), Robert Rogers (Katheryn), Lauren Drysdale (Levi), Bret Rogers, and grandson Cayden Hailey. Bob is also survived by his sisters Susan Rogers, Toni Ficken (Stavros) and son Andrew, Kelli Rogers (Roger) and daughter Jolee, Kristine Rogers, and brother, John Rogers (Darlene). The family will receive friends from 4-7:00 pm on Monday February 15, 2016 at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill, 1157 Old Canton Rd, Marietta, GA 30068. Just spoke with Rosa Lee Worth about Maurice's service.  It is scheduled for February 27 at Fayette Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville, GA.  Greetings will begin at 1 pm with the service following at 2 pm.  A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.

WORTH, Maurice W. Maurice W. Worth of Fayetteville, GA passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016. He retired as Chief Operating Officer of Delta Air Lines in 1999 after a 39 year career. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of fifty-five years, Rosa Lee Worth; his son, Michael Worth and his wife Cheri of Athens, GA; his mother, Mary Worth of Fayetteville and family dog Mollie. He was preceded in death by his father Maurice Worth, Sr. Maurice was born and raised in Glasgow, VA, where he was an outstanding athlete in high school and later attended Washington and Lee University.

Mr. Worth was a long-time Delta employee, having joined the airline in 1960 as a Ramp Service Agent in Dallas, TX. He later assumed positions of increasing responsibility in Airport Customer Service in Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago and Boston. In 1979, he was promoted to System Manager Airport Operations based at Delta's headquarters in Atlanta. He was named Director - Personnel Administration in July 1986, Assistant Vice President - Personnel Administration in 1987, Vice President - Personnel in 1989, Senior Vice President - Personnel in 1991 and Executive Vice President - Customer Service in September, 1995. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer on August 15, 1997. Prior to that appointment, he served briefly as Acting Chief Executive Officer.  At Delta,  Maurice had a reputation as a respected leader who had a great rapport with the employees, primarily because he had worked his way up through the ranks and could relate to them. He frequently went to the various work areas and interacted with the employees listening to their concerns and seeking their ideas. He had a deep respect for the Delta people and often referred to working with them as a privilege and an honor.

After his retirement from Delta in 1999, he formed The Doral Company, a consulting firm specializing in aviation, international business and government affairs. The Doral Company served a wide range of clients, including the State of Oregon, Planning Technologies, Inc., Definition 6 Technologies and Beers/Skanska USA. He served as President and CEO until retiring in December, 2010.

Maurice was active in his community and Atlanta where he served on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Red Cross Chapter and was an Elder in the Fayette Presbyterian Church. He previously served on the National Board of Governors of the American Red Cross, the Board of Directors of Definition 6, an Atlanta based information technology company, the Board of Directors of Comair Holdings, Inc., the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Foundation for Independent Colleges, the Board of Directors of The Atlanta College of Art, the Board of Visitors for Clark Atlanta University, the Advisory Board of W.T. Beebe Institute of Georgia State University and is a past member of the Atlanta Kiwanis Club. He has also served on the Board of Directors for Atlanta Healthcare Alliance, Joseph Sams School, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Christian City Home for Children.

 Obituary for Mr. Robert Deane Mohr

Mr. Robert Deane Mohr, 79, of St. Petersburg passed away peacefully on the morning of January 30th, 2016 at Bayfront Medical Center. He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Doris, and a family who will always miss him. He was a Captain in the US Air Force back in the 1960's and had an amazing, near 30 year career as a commercial pilot for Delta Airlines.

A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday February 3rd at 11:00am.
