…..from the retired Northwest pilot group/RNPA comes this news with the passing of retired Northwest/Delta pilot Captain Ben Deitermann, age 60.  Captain Deitermann is survived by his daughters plus many more dear family members.  Please see the RNPA note and obituary website link below.

Captain Bernhard Deitermann is under the care of Forest Lawn Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life event is planned for July 24th at St. Joan of Arc Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

NWA/Delta Captain Ben Deitermann, age 60, died on June 5, 2021. Ben was born on July 10, 1960 and was hired by NWA on November 9, 1984. The following a obituary which appeared in the Minneapolis Star and Tribune on June 27, 2021.

Obituary : “Deitermann, Bernhard "Ben" July 10, 1960-June 5, 2021

Ben is survived by his daughters Annika and Alexandra (Ally) Deitermann, his mother Martha (Hertl) Deitermann, his sister Katharina Deitermann, nieces and nephews, relatives in Germany, friends, and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his father, Bernhard E. Deitermann. Ben grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. While earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of North Dakota, Ben worked as a flight instructor logging many hours to become a pilot for Transwestern, Republic, Northwest, and Delta Airlines. Ben retired from Delta as a Boeing -767 captain in 2020. Ben loved flying, singing, fishing, and traveling, but his greatest love was being a father to his "girls," Annika and Ally. We love you and we miss you. Celebration of Life July 24, 2021, St. Joan of Arc Church, 4537 3rd Ave. S. Minneapolis, MN 55419. Visitation 10am, Service 11am. In remembrance of Ben, memorials to: The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, Three Trees Books or UND Aviation Scholarship.”
