___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Obituary : Paul Dewey Johnson in the care of Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home

Johnson, Paul Dewey, 78, of Oregonia, OH went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 6, 2023.  Born February 6, 1945 in Watertown, MN to Russell and Grace (nee: McCann) Johnson, Paul grew up farming alongside his father and siblings, which instilled a strong work ethic that he carried with him throughout his life.  He was graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in soil and water conservation, and served his country in Vietnam as a pilot in the United States Air Force.  Paul married his loving wife Laurie on June 15, 1974, and they enjoyed a faith-filled, God-honoring marriage of 48 years.  Paul flew for Delta Airlines from 1972 until his retirement in 2003.  He was a member of the Countryside Church of the Nazarene and was actively involved in Psalm One Ministries in Oregonia, OH.  Paul built his life upon the Cornerstone, Jesus, and his faith was an example to all who knew him.  His humility, wisdom, dry humor and quiet nature endeared him to many.

Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Laurie (nee: Moe) Johnson; his children, Erik (Nicki) Johnson of Haikou, China, Brecka (Nathan) Spahr of Galena, OH, and David (Martha) Johnson of Oregonia, OH; his brothers, Marvin Johnson of Maple Plain, MN, Lloyd (Bonnie) Johnson of Stevens Point, WI, Daniel (Karen) Johnson of Cleveland, TN, Bryan (Elaine) Johnson of Maple Plain, MN, and Evan (Shea) Johnson of Minnetonka, MN; his sisters, June (Carl) Palmberg of Valley Springs, SD and Mary Printy of Maple Plain, MN; and his four grandchildren, Maddie Spahr, Emma Spahr, Adelheid Johnson and Reidar Johnson, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 10 AM until 12 Noon with a funeral service to follow, all at the Countryside Church of the Nazarene, 1436 Deerfield Road, Lebanon, OH 45036.  Pastors Jim Toy and nephew Robb Hansen to officiate.  Interment with military honors will follow at Lebanon Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moody Bible Institute, 820 N Lasalle Blvd, Chicago, IL 60610, to Trinity International University, 206 Half Day Road, Deerfield, IL 60015, or to Psalm One Ministries, P. O. Box 653, Mason, Ohio 45040.  Arrangements made by the Oswald Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon, OH.
