___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Obituary for Wanda Faye Haskins

Wanda Faye Haskins, a cherished member of the Westlake community, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on November 7, 1932, in Southbend, TX to Fred and Alice Kennett, Wanda brought light and joy into the lives of all who knew her.

Wanda will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Jim, their sons Tommy (Diane), Bob (Susan), Mat (Dana), and Greg (Monique), and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her warm spirit and unwavering love for her family will always be remembered.

She was preceded by her parents and her daughter Kathy.

Throughout her life, Wanda was an active member of the Delta Retired Pilots Association and volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels, showing kindness and compassion to those in need. Wanda graduated from Pasedena High School in 1949. She had a passion for bird watching, finding solace in watching birds from her back porch and treasured moments with her grandchildren.

Wanda's memory will forever be cherished by all who had the honor of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and daughter, Kathy, but her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
