Ed Cicci Obituary

It is with heavy hearts yet profound appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Henry Edward "Ed" Cicci on June 24, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 79. Born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, on November 12, 1945, Ed embodied the spirit of adventure, love, and family throughout his remarkable journey.

Ed's life was defined by the skies he so loved to navigate. A passionate aviator, he served as a test pilot for the Air Force and the Federal Aviation Administration, a role that allowed him to merge his professional expertise with his personal passions. He began his flying career in the United States Air Force and then soared through the skies for Delta Air Lines and the Federal Aviation Administration piloting 137 different types of planes. His awe-inspiring knowledge of aircraft was matched only by his infectious enthusiasm for flight.

Beyond flying, Ed loved to embrace the open road on his Harley motorcycle, another testament to his thirst for freedom and exploration. A man of many talents, he could effortlessly move from the roar of an engine to the gentle sounds of the piano, playing masterfully by ear. Music was a vital extension of his soul, bringing joy to all who were lucky enough to listen.

At the heart of Ed's life was his family. He cherished his wife, Jean, who stood by his side through every turn. Their love was a testament to enduring partnership and mutual respect. Ed adored his children, Mark (Jodi) Cicci and Marnie (Logan) Hirsh, who inherited his zest for life and sense of adventure. His grandchildren, Tyler Cicci, and Evan and Jamison Hirsh, were his pride and joy, lighting up his life with laughter and hope for the future.

Ed was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Henry and Ann Cicci, whom he spoke of with endless honor and loving remembrance. Left to celebrate his legacy are his brother Dave (Chris) Cicci, nephews Corey (Christine) Cicci and Darby Cicci, and great-nieces Hallie and Everly. His extended family and friends hold dear the treasured memories woven together by moments of laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support.

With each flight and every tune he played, Ed Cicci reminded us to see beyond the horizon and embrace the possibilities waiting there. As we say goodbye to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, we hold his spirit within us, continuing to inspire us to rise higher and live fuller as Ed did—with courage, compassion, and love.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City. Interment will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton.

We welcome you to provide your condolences, thoughts, and memories on our Tribute Wall.

Floyd Stiles Obituary

Phoenix - Floyd "Buzz" Stiles, Jr., age 86, passed away on June 8, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. A devoted aviator and accomplished pilot, Buzz lived a life defined by his passion for flight and his dedication to service.

Born on December 19, 1938, in Beresford, South Dakota, Buzz spent his formative years in the heart of the Midwest. He attended high school in both Custer and Winner, South Dakota, before pursuing higher education at South Dakota State University in Brookings. There he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in 1963. His love for aviation began early-sparked by an aviation movie he saw in third grade-and it would shape the course of his life.

During summer breaks from college, Buzz earned his pilot's license and did crop dusting in North Dakota and Mississippi. In a charming nod to his nickname and future plans, he occasionally "buzzed" the home of his future wife.

Following graduation, Buzz entered Navy Pilot training in Pensacola, Florida. He went on to serve with distinction as a naval aviator during the Vietnam War. Stationed out of Lemoore, California, he flew combat missions from the decks of the USS Enterprise and USS Hancock. Later based in Alameda, California, he served aboard the USS Independence during a Mediterranean deployment His five years of military service reflected both courage and commitment.

After completing his time in the Navy, Buzz transitioned seamlessly into a civilian aviation career that spanned more than three decades. He flew for Northwest Airlines, ultimately rising to captain on international flights aboard Boeing 747-400s. His career took him across the globe and allowed him to continue doing what he loved most-flying.

Besides flying, Buzz enjoyed his family life that included worldwide traveling. He also served as an usher at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church many years. Additionally, Buzz believed in a healthy lifestyle: he made vitamin loaded berry flavored smoothies for his family every morning and he swam 100 or more laps in Olympic sized pools everyday but Sundays.

Buzz is survived by Helen, his wife of 61 years, daughter Dyanne; son Kelly (Jamie); and three grandchildren: Jaydiin, Jace, and Jayla May.

A man whose life was guided by purpose and passion from an early age, Floyd "Buzz" Stiles leaves behind a legacy of service to his family, church, and country.

A memorial service for Buzz will be held at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church on Tuesday, July 1 at 11:00 am. There will be a reception following the service.

In lieu of flowers a donation could be made to the Raymond and Minerva Greb scholarship fund at South Dakota State University which is where Buzz and Helen met. (The address is South Dakota State University Foundation; Lohr Building; 815 Medary Ave; Brookings, SD 57006)

 ROGER OWEN MOORE

MAY 1, 1937 – FEBRUARY 3, 2025

IN THE CARE OF Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery

FINAL FLIGHT WEST

Captain Roger Owen Moore (“The Original 007”), 87, passed away on February 3, 2025.  He was born May 1, 1937, in New York City, New York, to Charles and Irene Moore and was raised in Babylon, New York on Long Island.  After graduating from high school, Roger moved to El Paso, Texas, to live with his oldest brother, Charlie Moore.  This phase of his life is where his love for aviation took flight.  A close and dear friend and pilot, Chuck Michel, took him under his wing to teach him about the adventures of flying, avec the thrills of acrobatic maneuvers to seal the deal.  From 1957 through 1960, Roger accrued flight time ferrying various aircraft and flying Curtiss C-46 cargo planes across the continental United States for AAXICO (American Air Export and Import Company) while pursuing his flying certifications.

In 1961, Roger was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.  Quickly recognized for performance excellence by his superiors, Roger was offered a well-earned advancement to higher ranks.  However, yearning to once again “dance the skies on laughter-silvered wings” (credit: “High Flight" by John Gillespie Magee Jr.), Roger requested and was granted Honorable Discharge after fulfilling his 2-year commitment with the Army.

In March 1964, Roger landed at Delta Air Lines, where he earned a first-officer seat on the Convair CV-440, Douglas DC-6, DC-7, and DC-9, and Boeing 747.  In due time, he was promoted to Captain, flying Boeing 727, 757, 767, and Lockheed L-1011.

In 1967, not but a few short years after starting his career with Delta, Roger rested his eyes on a striking young stewardess named Stephanie.  Leaving nothing to chance, Roger secured a first date and then a marriage 10 months later.  Within this courtship lies a story told countless times, yet one that never gets old for those who can appreciate the beaming demeanor radiating from the still-smitten couple.

Embodying the ‘007’ mindset of understated confidence, grace under pressure, and a quiet assurance that commanded respect, Roger always exhibited discipline in everything he did and approached life with a carefully executed plan—which served him and those under his care well.  After nearly 33 years of service with Delta (March 4, 1964 - November 1, 1996), transporting hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of souls on vacations, business trips, and family gatherings from North America and the Caribbean to Europe and Asia, Roger retired his wings of glory and settled into an equally, if not more, fulfilling life of devoted family time with Stephanie, children Brian, Brigitte, and Holly, and later, daughter-in-law Chelsey, and grandchildren Kai and Van.

Roger’s love of travel and precision in the cockpit afforded him an honorable and highly regarded (and enjoyable) life for him and his family.  While there are countless memories worthy of note, the one that best celebrates his accomplishments and life’s work is his final flight into retirement.  Surrounded by family and a tightly bonded flight crew, Roger celebrated in grand ‘007’ style.  Landing in Honolulu, Oahu, the L-1011 commanded by Roger was greeted with an impressive water salute.  Fire trucks accompanied the airplane to the gate with plumes of water forming arches over the fuselage.  This ceremonial tradition symbolizes respect and celebration for such a significant milestone in one’s flying career.  The ensuing celebration included a grand dinner that, in all senses of the phrase, “left nothing on the table.”

As a husband, Roger Moore was one of a kind—not just because he was the “original” 007 (which he charmingly shared when anyone likened him to James Bond), but also because he was the kind of husband any mother and father would hope for their daughter.  Roger put every ounce of his heart and devotion into his wife, Stephanie.  His commitment and adoration for her was always apparent no matter the situation or the company they kept. And over the years, it just got stronger and more apparent.  Stephanie was one lucky lady.

As a father and role model, Roger was an old-fashioned man.  A man of character, ethics, and morals.  A man of authentic charm.  A man of strength.  A man of discipline.  A man of devotion.  And, most importantly, a man of faith.  Among his friends, Roger was very well liked by all for his charisma, lively conversational style, clever wit, and astuteness.  He could make anyone feel special—because they were.  Being around him, you’d feel right at home, or even a part of the family.

Roger is survived by his wife, Stephanie Moore, of Dallas, Texas; son, Brian Moore, and wife, Chelsey, and grandchildren, Kai and Van, of St. George, Utah; daughter, Holly Moore, of Capistrano Beach, California; brother, Donald Moore, and wife, Adelita, of Boston, Massachusetts; and sister-in-law, Kathi Moore, of Graceville, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brigitte Moore; father, Charles; mother, Irene; brother, Charlie and wife, Nellie; and brother, Gerry.

A Funeral Mass for Roger will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Saint Rita Catholic Parish, 12521 Inwood Rd, Dallas, Texas 75244, in the Church.  A reception will follow from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM in the Parish Commons adjacent to the Church on the Saint Rita campus.

Respectfully,

Holly Moore (daughter) and Stephanie Moore (wife)

Curtis McIntyre Obituary

Curtis Ross "Curt" McIntyre, 66
Curtis R. "Curt" McIntyre lived a life as a studious and enthusiastic follower of Jesus Christ. Curt was born on 24 Dec 1958 and died on 14 May 2025 due to Diffuse large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma at age 66. He lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, challenges, and unique experiences. He had a big heart and loved large. Loyal, positive, dedicated, and energetic, Curt laid down his life and lived for Christ. His faith guided his endeavors.

Curt was born in Colfax, WA but his family moved to Whitefish, MT two weeks later where he was raised. He had an idyllic childhood with extensive hiking, camping, water sports and skiing. As a Whitefish High School student, he was a private pilot, Eagle Scout, junior and senior class president, and captain of the football and track teams-where he was an all-state defensive end and set a school record in the discus throw. Curt's parents were small plane pilots, and he got the flying bug at an early age. In 8th grade he saw the USAF Thunderbirds perform at a Boy Scout jamboree and vowed to become a professional pilot. After graduation, he received several college scholarships and appointments to the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY and the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, CO. He chose the USAFA and majored in Aviation Sciences, with minor work in Aeronautical Engineering. While at the Academy he was an alternate member of the Flying Team, a member of the Rodeo Team (bareback bronc specialist), and on the Dean's List. Following graduation, Curt was retained shortly at the USAFA where he and another officer (Dave Chapman) designed, engineered, and built a man-powered aircraft that set an (unofficial) world altitude record. He was then assigned to USAF Undergraduate Pilot Training in Oklahoma for a year. He earned his first-choice aircraft and location: a C-141B with basing in Southern California. Curt excelled as a pilot, rapidly becoming a world-wide qualified aircraft commander as a 1st Lieutenant at age 24. He went on to be qualified in combat airdrop formation flying, air refueling, Special Operations Low Level (SOLL), and became an instructor pilot and flight examiner. He flew missions to all continents and points all over the globe including over the North Pole and landing on the ice in Antarctica. He led a 12-ship formation in the USAF's highest visibility airdrop mission, Gallant Eagle '86. He also amassed combat support time taking the 5th airplane into Grenada under enemy fire in Operation Urgent Fury, 1983.

Curt separated from the active duty in 1988 and simultaneously accepted a commission as a reserve officer in the USAF Reserve and a position as a pilot with Delta Air Lines. While a reservist he flew combat support in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, the First Gulf War. Curt bypassed command of a flying unit and career advancement in order to devote time with his young family and moved them back to Montana in 2003. Later he became an Air Liaison Officer (ALO) and worked with students and families interested in the USAF Academy and AFROTC scholarships. He served as the commander of Montana's ALOs for 3 years.

As an airline pilot, Curt amassed 15,600 hours flying the 727, 737-200/300/300G/700/800, 757, 767, MD-11, A-330, and A-350. He held FAA ATP and CFII Instructor licenses. He was a strong supporter of the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA). As a captain, Curt took great pride in transporting his passengers and crews in a safe, efficient, and fun manner. His contemporaries lauded him as a consummate professional.

Curt was somewhat of an adventure adrenaline junkie. In addition to being a world traveler and jet pilot, he was a white-water kayaker, scuba diver, hang glider and paraglider pilot, sky diver, and extreme free skier when he was young. He had knee, shoulder, and hip surgeries plus many scars as souvenirs from his extreme adventures.

Curt, and several partners, also started and built several businesses in the Flathead including Naturally Clean, Inc. dry cleaning, Siyeh Vista, LLC and Rising Wolf, LLC property management, and Camas Creek Partners real estate development.

But it was volunteer service that was where Curt's heart was when he was not flying. He served as an assistant scout master for Boy Scout Troop 1917, a hospitality and prayer assistant for Shepherd's Hand Free Clinic, and a director and board chairman for the Flathead Municipal Airport Authority (Glacier Park Int'l Airport). He was a member of several area churches including Christ Lutheran, All Saints Episcopal, Whitefish Calvary Chapel, and Canvas Church.

An always open-minded and curious person, Curt was an intellectual who read voraciously and engaged people to learn new thoughts and ideas. His friends were world-wide, and he saw the world from many unique perspectives. He was a graduate of the Air War College and earned MS and MBA degrees from Embry-Riddle University, and a PhD equivalency in military flying. Curt could argue and prevail on either side of most debates, much to the chagrin of both his conservative and liberal friends, and he was staunchly independent in most of his outlooks for most of his life. As he aged, he became more progressive because of his faith and integrity. But most of the time he was quiet and reflective, and enjoyed hiking and camping in the Montana mountains in the company of his children, friends, and family.

His family was his most important treasure. His wife Sherry was a Christian soul mate that he shared love and a life of purpose with, and he cherished and adored her. His son Ryker and daughter Tori were his raison d'être he often said, and he loved them and obsessed about their welfare. He was devoted to his parents and cared for them in their senior years.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma proved to be a sticky disease and challenged him for a year and a half. He was grateful to the healthcare professionals in Kalispell and the Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle for their professionalism, empathy, and care during his affliction.

Curt is survived by his wife Sherry, son Ryker, daughter Tori, stepchildren Paulette, Nick, Annalise, and Vince. His cousins Donna McIntyre, Dr. R. Campbell and Reba McIntyre, Michael and Marilyn Kelch, Dr. Scott and Shelley McIntyre, Lance and Sandra Margeson, Liz Sandin, Dr. Wendell Cottle and Barbra McPherson, Stuart and Toni McPherson, Dr. Michael and Janet Boltwood, Peter and Janice Werle, Marsha Swedin, Ranne and Holly McIntyre, Kjell and Laurie Swedin, Stephan Swedin and Susannah Frame, Christopher and Julie Swedin, Brian and Jenny Baxter, Peter and Talley Nichols, Andy McIntyre and Jessi Williams, Manny and Ashley McIntyre, Jonathan and Stephanie Kelch, Ben Kelch, Markham and Alexa McIntyre, Kayla McIntyre, Scott and Jesse Sandin, Sean and Shannon Sandin, Katie Sandin, Iain and Rachael McPherson, Allison Boltwood, Lian Boltwood, Andrea and Greg Hileski, Jim and Carrie Margeson, and numerous other 2nd cousins. Curt's best friends and USAFA classmates Maj Gen Brian Dominguez and Delta Captain Dave Chapman were closer than brothers. Close friends Phil Milne, Mark Lemly, Steve Burglund, Chris Schaefer, Chris Hansen, Fritz Baake, Greg Dvorak, Ken Banks, Steve Johnson, Chris Wilds, Wendell Burden, Steve Robinson, and Ken Wuttke.

This was a man who tried to do it right. Always positive, overly optimistic, always trying to live life to its highest ideals. He died before conquering bucket list items of flying a small plane around the world, driving a combine, living in Europe and New Zealand for a period, and fully mastering the German language. What he did do with his big heart was inspire, teach, lead, love, and share his faith.

Joseph Orzech Obituary

Joseph Miller Orzech, 75, passed away on May 27, 2025, following a stroke and an unexpected cancer diagnosis. He bore his illness with his characteristic sense of humor and steadfast faith in God's providence amid hardship.

Born on January 18, 1950, in Brooklyn, NY, Joseph was the son of Joseph P. and Frances (Miller) Orzech. At the age of six, his family moved to Emerson, NJ, where he attended Assumption School and later Bergen Catholic High School. He went on to study at The Catholic University of America, where he met his beloved wife, Ann (Wagner) Orzech, whom he married in 1974.

A gifted student and leader, Joseph excelled in Air Force ROTC and was inducted into Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1971 and his Master of Science in Engineering in 1972. Joseph proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of Captain and serving as a flight instructor.

In 1978, Joseph and Ann settled in Londonderry, NH, where they raised their three children. He spent 25 years as a pilot for Delta Air Lines, retiring in 2004. Ten years later, he moved to Dalton, NH, where he found great joy in hiking, skiing at Bretton Woods, and serving his community.

In 2018, Joseph was honored with the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Medal by Pope Francis for his extraordinary efforts in restoring Our Lady of the Mountains Shrine in Bretton Woods. He was a devoted member of Gate of Heaven Parish and the Knights of Columbus Bradley Council #1624, where he served as a Fourth Degree Knight. His dedication to his parish was unwavering; he served on the finance committee, as a lector, in outreach ministries, and in hands-on roles, from maintaining the grounds to leading major renovation projects of parish buildings.

Joseph was also a passionate advocate for local environmental stewardship and he was actively involved in opposing the construction of a landfill near Forest Lake State Park.

Joseph's many interests included woodworking, skiing, hiking, serving others, and most of all, spending time with his children and grandchildren. Joe's legacy is his service to his church, the devotion with which he raised his children, and the love he showed to his grandchildren.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents, his sister Frances (Orzech) Sirignano, and his beloved wife, Ann (Wagner) Orzech, in 1994. He was also preceded in death by his sisters-in-law Jane (Wagner) Tecza (Bruce Tecza) and Barbara Cristina (Martinez) Wagner, and his brother-in-law William Wagner. He is survived by his children, David Orzech of North Bend, WA, and his wife Camelia, and their children Audrey, John, and Evelyn; Peter Sullivan of Bedford, NH, and his wife Theresa, and their children Brendan, Luke, and Colleen; Catherine Collard of Nashua, NH, and her husband Nicholas, and their children Stephen, William, and Ann. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Louis Sirignano of Northvale, NJ, James Wagner of Tucson, AZ, Jerome Wagner of Vienna, VA, Daniel Wagner (Elizabeth Godfrey) of Arlington, VA; his sisters-in-law Catherine Wagner (Theodore Bonner) of New Berlin, WI, and Mary Byrns (Dan Byrns) of Kewaskum, WI; his cousin Kathleen Monks of Hillsdale, NJ; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and cherished friends.

Darril Clark Bill (“D.C.”), 59, was a lifelong adventurer who called many places “Home”- McKeesport, PA; Peachtree City, GA; Orlando FL; and Blue Ridge, GA.

His final days were spent making his mark in Chattanooga, TN, where he passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

_______

Darril was born in 1966 in McKeesport, PA to Faik D. Bill and Janice M. (Grimes) Bill.

Driven by his love of Country and passion for aviation, Darril graduated from The U.S. Air Force Academy in 1988 and fulfilled his dream of becoming an Air Force pilot. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and retired after 22 years of service.

In 1997, Darril joined Delta Airlines as a commercial airline pilot. At the time of his death, he was a newly-minted A-350 Captain flying all around the world.

A dedicated student of life, Darril’s love of learning made him a jack-of-all-trades, and his work ethic made him a master of most. You were just as likely to find him in his workshop repairing an antique pinball machine as you were to encounter him absorbed in a book on history or government. He had a movie quote for every occasion, and legend has it he would sometimes moonlight as Batman.

Whether he was enacting elaborate pranks he devised, researching & documenting the story behind a cherished collectible he had tracked down, or helping his daughters perfect their résumés, Darril always lived up to his playful ideal of “if it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing”. (Reader note: he also applied this life motto when pouring powdered sugar onto his pancakes.)

Of all his remarkable endeavors, Darril was most proud of the loving family he and his wife, Kimberly (Pasternak) Bill, built together over their nearly-37 years of marriage. The births of their daughters, Katelyn and Nora, led Darril to discovering his greatest life purpose: loving his girls and raising them to do good in the world.

Darril dreamed of retiring with his wife to his beloved cabin in the mountains of Blue Ridge, where they could watch the breathtaking sunsets and continue creating joyful new memories with their daughters, extended family, and dear friends.

Through his outstanding devotion as a husband & father, his loyalty and goodness as a family member & friend, and the kindness and respect he showed to everyone he met, Darril left the world a brighter place than he found it. Although his time on Earth was far too brief, his legacy will span generations.

For all who love him, we can honor his memory by having more adventures, pursuing our passions, spending more time with the people we love, and enacting more good in the world.

As for Darril, “Mischief Managed”.

(at least for now)

_______

Darril is survived by his loving wife and their two daughters; brother, Darric (Kimberly) Bill; father and mother-in-law, John and Peggy Pasternak; brother and sister-in-law, John and Kristen Pasternak; nephews Jared, Camdyn, and Trevyn Bill; and nieces, Brianna and Bethany Pasternak.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother, Darrin Bill.
