___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity.     Mary Carolyn (Moroni) Farrell, born Nov. 24, 1935, formerly of Panama City, passed from the beloved arms of her husband and sons into the loving arms of Jesus on Sept. 11, 2016 in Duluth, Minnesota.

Born in Duluth, raised in the small town of Ely, Mary Carolyn attended the College of St. Scholastica, graduating in 1957 with a B.A. in Medical Technology. While working at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, she married Kenneth Farrell who became employed as a pilot for Delta Air Lines. They were married more than 58 years and she followed his career. She and Kenneth retired to Panama City, Florida, in 1992.

Mary Carolyn dedicated her intelligence, her emotions and many creative talents toward her family and household. She upheld high standards. She was a cook, chef, baker and immaculate bottle washer. Annually, she made potica, antipasto and award-winning jams. Her pies were masterpieces. In years past she played the piano. She loved to sing. She designed and made clothing, quilts and knitted blankets. She earned Life Master status in Duplicate Bridge. She had studied Latin, German, and French. She furthered her education to become a certified teacher of biology in order to teach her young sons. She balanced her checkbooks to the penny. She was a person who knew austerity, congenial warmth, and the joy of a generous spirit. She was touched by beauty and quickness. Her smile was contagious. She loved to laugh. She loved her family and her many friends.

She was a passionate fighter for her beliefs. Born with an abundance of life and sensitivity, she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by husband Kenneth, their three sons - Jeffry, Tim, Ken, their wives and six grandchildren. Survivors also include sisters Barbara Johnson and Christine Moroni, both of Minnesota, as well as brother Peter Greg Moroni of Naples, Florida.
