June 27, 1935 - April 7, 2012

Jay S. Brooks, age 76 of St. Paul, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2012. He was born in Duluth on June 27, 1935 to Stanley Brooks and Jane Gehan. He graduated from Cretin High School in 1953 and the College of St. Thomas in 1959. He is survived by his wife Rita (Reardon), his five children, Mark (Sheri), Cindy (Dave) Twetten, Bob (Lisa), Tom, and Steve; ten grandchildren, Christina, Dan, Brian, Katy, Mary (Mark) Basola, Catherine Twetten (fiancè Michael Dybicz), Thomas (Kathleen) Twetten, Sarah, David, and Joe; and three great-grandsons, Philip. Dominic, and John Basola. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, April 13 at 10:00 am at the Church of the Assumption (51 West 7th Avenue, St Paul). Visitation Thursday, April 12, 4:00 – 8:00 pm at O’Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home, 575 South Snelling Avenue, St. Paul. Interment at Fort Snelling Cemetery. Memorials preferred to N.C. Little Hospice.
