DL Capt. Burton 'Buck' Moree

December 24, 1929 ~ June 18, 2012

    
Notification of the passing of Air Force veteran, Korean War veteran and retired DL pilot Captain Burton ‘Buck’ Herbert Moree, age 82.  Captain Moree hired on with Delta in January 1956 and retired in March of 1987, based Miami.  As was Buck’s wishes, there will be no services. 
Not mentioned in Buck’s obituary, but his wife Betty passed away in February 2009.  Betty’s obituary is also posted below.  To the best of my knowledge personal condolences may be sent to Captain Moree’s family at

BURTON H. MOREE "Buck" Age 82 of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away peacefully in Hospice at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center on June 18, 2012. Buck was born and raised in Riviera Beach, FL. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1948 and spent the early years of the Korean War in the Air Rescue Squadron at Hamilton Field, CA. He was Honorably Discharged in 1952. After earning his pilot's license, Buck flew for several cargo companies and a Canadian airline in the Artic. Buck joined Delta Air Lines in January 1956 and provided the airline with 31 years of service. He retired in March, 1987 at age 57 - closing his beloved flying career as an L-1011 Captain. Buck is predeceased by his loving parents Nellie and Alonzo Moree; sister, Delphine Mathis, and two brothers, Errol Moree and Thomas Moree. He is survived by his three daughters, Cheri (Rob) Kasprak, Cindy Moree, and Darlene Moree and his two granddaughters, Erika Kasprak and Kristen Rawls and great-granddaughter, Aurora Villalobos. Betty J. Moree  
Aug. 10, 1926 ~ Feb. 28, 2009
BETTY J. MOREE (nee Stong) Age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2009. She was our beloved and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Betty was a great lover of all animals but especially cats and horses. Everywhere she went, she was known to all because she was such a generous and caring person and always offered a kind word to everyone. She was born and raised in Coatesville, PA and joined the Army Nurse Cadet Corp. in 1944. After receiving her RN in Nursing, she worked at the V.A. Hospital in Coatesville until moving to Coral Gables, FL. She continued her Nursing career at the old Biltmore V.A. Hospital and other hospitals in the Miami area. Betty married Burton (Buck) H. Moree in June 1954 and joined him in his travels as a pilot with Delta Air Lines. They have three daughters - Cheri Kasprak (Rob), Cindy Moree, and Darlene Moree, and two granddaughters - Erika and Kristen Kasprak. She is also survived by her sister Virginia Wright, and predeceased by her parents May B. Stong and William P. Stong, sisters Nancy Harman and Dorothy Perry, and brother William P. Stong, II. Funeral services will be held at Royal Palm Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 11:00 AM.
