November
27, 1929 ~ January 1, 2013
Notification of the passing of NWA retired pilot Captain Robert Roy DeLair. I believe Captain DeLair flew for
North Central and Republic and would have retired prior to or shortly after
their merger with Northwest.

==============================
Robert Roy
DeLair of Jackson, passed away suddenly on January 1, 2013 after a courageous
battle with cancer. Bob was born on November 27, 1929 in Royal Oak, MI. He is
survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marlene DeLair; daughter, Sheri McVey;
his grandchildren, Marley and Donovan McVey whom he loved dearly. In addition he
is survived by his brother, Truman DeLair; numerous nieces and nephews and many
other good friends. Bob joined the US Air Force to pursue his passion for
flying, however, it wasn't until after proudly serving his country that he
earned his pilot's license. First flying for a private company and then retiring
from NW/Delta Airlines after 31 years of dedicated service. There will be a
celebration of Bob's life at a later date. Those planning an expression of
sympathy are asked to consider donating to the Alzheimer's Foundation of
America.
