Notification of the passing of early NWA stewardess Phyllis Adaire Tack Curry, age 88, widow of NWA Capt. Charles ‘Chuck’ William Jackson Curry Sr., and mother of NWA/DL Detroit based international Captain Charles ‘Charlie’ Curry Jr. A Memorial Service will be held this Friday, January 18, in Bloomington MN.

Phyllis Adaire Curry, 88, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. She met her husband Chuck, a pilot, during her cherished time as a Northwest Airlines stewardess. Together they made some of the first flights to Tokyo following WWII. She loved playing bridge in many different clubs with her good friends. She was a long-time member of the Women's Club of Minneapolis.
 

Phyllis is survived by her son, Charles Jr. (Mary) Curry of Woodbury, MN; daughter, Janet Curry of Ashland, OR; grandchildren, Julia and Rose Curry, and Morgan LaManna.
 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Sr., daughter, Carol Olivia Curry, and brothers, Chuck, Jim, and Earl Tack.
 

Memorial Service will be on Friday, January 18, at 11:00 AM at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Ave S, Bloomington, MN.

Capt. C. W. Curry Sr. hired on with NWA 02-26-1942 and retired at the mandatory age 60 in 1973.
