DL Capt. Henry 'Hank' Rimmer

Air Force veteran, DL Capt. Henry C. Rimmer Jr.
June 12, 1943 ~ March 7, 2013

Word has been received with news of the passing of retired DL pilot Captain Henry ‘Hank’ Rimmer, age 69. Henry Clay Rimmer Jr. was born/raised in Vallejo, California. After his military service Captain Rimmer hired on with Delta Air Lines 01-29-1973 and retired in 2003 at the mandatory age 60, based ATL/030. Arrangements were entrusted to H. M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill Chapel in Marietta GA. I’m not aware of an online guestbook, services were private.
Henry C. Rimmer Jr., 69, of Marietta, GA passed away at home after battling cancer. He was born in Vallejo, CA and attended St. Basil's and St. Vincent's H.S., Class of 1961. He was active in many sports, but had a lifelong passion for baseball and golf. Hank eventually went on to St. Mary's and ultimately graduated from U.C. Berkeley. He served in the U.S. Air Force initially as an intelligence officer at March AFB, where he met his wife Chris. He completed USAF pilot training at Webb AFB, in Big Spring, TX. He flew several years as an active duty fighter pilot instructor prior to accepting a position with Delta Airlines. The Rimmer's lived in Miami, FL , New Orleans, LA and eventually settled in Marietta, Georgia. Flying several jet fighters throughout his 20 year career in the USAF, including the F-100, F-4 and F-15 , he retired from the 122nd TFS , Louisiana ANG as a

Lieutenant Colonel. He also retired from Delta Airlines after a 30 year career, as a Captain of the 767-400.

He is survived by his wife of 45 yrs. Christina and his two sons Matthew and Gregory, Greg's wife Teresa and his grandchildren Ian, Sam and Emily.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Patrick - St. Vincent HS in Vallejo,CA or cancer research.
Henry Clay Rimmer Jr., 69, of Marietta died Thursday. Private service will be held. H.M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill.
