Obituary
Mr. R. Clay Forbes, 72, of Suwanee, GA, formerly of Stone Mountain, GA, passed away on April 4, 2013. Clay was a 1963 Auburn graduate, served in the US Air Force and then went on to retire as a Captain with Delta Airlines after 31 years of dedicated service. His greatest joy in life was when he was flying.
Clay is survived by his wife of 48 years, Colleen M. Forbes; sons Michael Craig (Jennifer), Ryan Clay (Kelly); grandson Braeden Clay whom he adored; mother Marie Duncan Forbes Coles, of Pittsview, AL; sister Marilyn "Sissy" Ball, of Pensacola, FL and many nieces and nephews. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, a true friend and Christian. He will be sorely missed by everyone.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday, April 8 at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., Roswell, GA 30076. The Funeral Service will be held at 9:30am Tuesday, April 9 at Johns Creek Baptist Church, 6910 McGinnis Ferry Road, Alpharetta, GA 30005. Clay will be laid to rest with military honors at 1pm Tuesday at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Delta Care Fund, which provides for Delta families in need and Atlanta Lab Rescue, because Clay was every Labs friend.

Word has been received with the unexpected death of retired DL Captain R. Clay Forbes. Captain Clay Forbes hired on with Delta 06-02-1969 and retired at the mandatory age 60 in 2000, based ATL.  Born May 4, 1940 Ralph Clay Forbes was 72 years of age at the time of his passing Thursday evening April 4, 2013.
Captain Forbes is survived by his wife Colleen. Personal condolences may be sent to the Forbes family at
