January 24, 1960 ~ August 11, 2013 

Notification with the passing of Delta Air Lines MD-88 pilot, later as a Flight Simulator Instructor David Lynn McConnell, age 53.  David’s obituary notes that he hired on with Delta in 1990.  Services will be held Friday August 16, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Parrott Funeral Home Chapel with visitation the evening prior.

Obituary:
Mr. David Lynn McConnell of Peachtree City (formerly of Mercer County PA) passed away August 11, 2013. He was born January 24, 1960 in Greenville, PA. In 1978 he graduated from Lakeview High School in Stoneboro, PA., and then went on to graduate from Slippery Rock University in 1982. He served as a captain in the United States Air Force as a C-141 and 737 aircraft commander. Mr. McConnell joined Delta Airlines in 1990 as a First Officer on the MD-88 and later as a Flight Simulator Instructor. He had many hobbies including, hiking, photography, traveling, radio control airplanes, singing, karaoke, playing guitar and the theater. He is survived by his wife, Esther McConnell; parents, Rodney and Lois McConnell of Muncie, IN; his children, Ryan McConnell and his wife, Shawna of Newburyport, MA and Casey McConnell of Peachtree City; step-son, Ethan Lillemoe of Norcross; step daughters, Sarah Davenport and her husband, Kelley of Newnan, Rachel Lillemoe of Carrollton; sisters, Bonnie Carothers and her husband, Daniel of Mercer, PA, Linda Masters and her husband, Brian of Sharpsville, PA; brothers, Terry McConnell and his wife, Diane of Hermitage, PA, Edward McConnell and his wife, Amy of Sharpsburg; step-grandchildren, Charlie, Hannah and Lilly; 8 nieces and nephews; 3 great nieces. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Minister Keith Davenport officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.
