DL Capt. Samuel H. Wells

Korean War veteran, DL Capt. Samuel H. ‘Sam’ Wells
September 16, 1933 ~ November 28, 2013


Notification with the passing of retired DL Captain Samuel Howard Wells, age 80.  Captain Wells joined Delta Air Lines 01-16-1961 and retired at the mandatory age 60 in 1993.  He was based Miami, then Atlanta prior to his retirement.

Obituary..........

Samuel “Sam” Wells, 80, of Spruce Creek, passed away on November 28, 2013. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-6pm at the Lohman Funeral Home in Port Orange and The funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 11am at the New Life Church, 5231 S Nova Road, Port Orange. Sam served his country in the U.S. Air force during the Korean War, continuing his love of flying he retired as a Captain for Delta Airlines. Sam was a very gifted musician and loved playing his guitar and singing. In addition to loving music he enjoyed flying, golfing and playing tennis. Sam is predeceased by his son Mark Joseph Wells. He is survived by his Loving wife of 55 years Joanna M. Wells, and there son Michael Howard Wells of Daytona. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to: New life Church or Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.

Interment Information:  Daytona Memorial Park , 1425 Bellevue Ave.,  Daytona Beach FL
