former NWA stewardess Donna M. CATLIN , widow of NWA Capt. Bruce Catlin
June 25, 1926 ~ March 23, 2014

Notification with the passing of RNPA member Donna Marie neé Osterberg Catlin, former Ice Follies skater, early NWA stewardess and widow of NWA Captain Bruce Knoff Catlin.  I found a fun article from The Evening Tribune newspaper in Albert Lea, Minnesota, dated Monday, February 4, 1946:  “Donna Osterberg, line skater with the Ice Follies the past three years was named Rochester Snow Queen at a ball Saturday night sponsored by the Lions' club. Previously named queens from Albert Lea, Austin, Owatonna, Faribault and Red Wing looked on as she was crowned. All will be guests at the St. Paul Victory carnival later this month.”  Donna was 87 years of age at the time of her passing.  Captain Catlin joined Northwest 01-08-1943 and retired in 1976.   Captain Catlin born June 26, 1916, passed on March 11, 1999.

Age 87, of Inver Grove Heights Passed away on March 23, 2014 Preceded in death by husband Bruce. Survived by son Todd (Maribeth) and son Bruce (Catherine); grandchildren Erica, Jessica, Ethan, and Methea. Born and raised in Rochester, MN. Donna was a professional ice skater with the Ice Follies for seven years. She was a flight attendant for five years with Northwest Airlines where she met her husband Bruce, who was a pilot. She enjoyed an active life, playing tennis into her later years, and traveling extensively. Memorial Service 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 26 at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights, 651-455-2035.
