News has reached us with the passing of Jean Ann Robinson, wife of retired ORD/ATL based DL pilot Captain Wilfred ‘Bill’ Keith Robinson.  Captain Robinson joined Delta Air Lines 11-19-1962 and retired in 1996.  The Robinsons married in January 1957 and were soon to celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary.  We understand that Jean had dealt with much illness these past years of her life.  She was 77 years of age at the time of her passing Saturday morning.  Jean’s obituary notes that visitation and a memorial service will be held Saturday, October 11th at First Presbyterian Church in Morris, Illinois.

  Jean Ann Robinson, 77, 0f Morris, passed away early Saturday morning, September 27, 2014 at Rosewood Care

Center in Joliet with her loving family by her side.

 

  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Morris

with Rev. Dr. Roy Backus officiating. Inurnment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday,

October 11 from 9:00 am until time of service at the church.

 

  She was born October 19, 1936 in Morris, the daughter of James F. and Ruth (Wills) Holderman. She received her

education in the schools of Pine Bluff, Coal City and graduated from Morris Community High School with the class of

1954. Later she received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign and her master’s degree

from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

 

  She married Wilfred “Bill” Robinson on January 24, 1957 at the First Presbyterian Church in Morris.

 

  Jean Ann was for many years the church secretary at First Presbyterian Church, the family farm manager, a self

employed free lance columnist for environmental concerns and Grundy County Solid Waste Coordinator.

 

  She is survived by her husband, Bill of Morris; three children, Alissa (Mike) McCormick of Wilmington, Fred (Benita)

Robinson and David Robinson both of Morris; three grandchildren, Hayley and Eric Robinson both of Morris and

Hadley McCormick of Wilmington; three sisters, Janet (Rodney) Nunemaker  of Randolph, NJ, Ramona Lanier of

Sycamore and Roberta (Bill) Allen of Sycamore; one brother, Honorable Judge James F. (Paula) Holderman of

LaGrange; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

  Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, David in infancy; one brother-in-law, Jerry Lanier.

 

  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, DAR, BPW Club, former 4-H leader, served on the

Conservation Congress and the Illinois Michigan Canal Corridor Association.

 

  Memorials may directed to the First Presbyterian Church or donor’s choice.

 

  She was a fan of the Chicago Black Hawks, Chicago Cubs, a gardener and an avid bird watcher.
