Navy veteran, DL Capt. James J. Healy
October 5, 1941 ~ December 28, 2014
News has reached us with the passing of Navy veteran retired
DL pilot Captain James Joseph ‘JJ’ Healy, age 73. Captain Healy joined Delta
Air Lines 03-14-1969 and retired with Delta at the mandatory age 60 in 2001,
based 031/ATL. Captain Healy is survived by his wife Christine C. Healy.

Obituary

James Joseph Healy (aka JJ), age 73, of Crystal River, FL,
passed away December 28, 2014 at his home. Born on October 5, 1941
in Bronx, NY to Joseph Anthony and Mary (Schmidt) Healy. James
moved to Crystal River 11 years ago from St. George Island, FL.
He was a retired Captain for Delta Airlines. JJ was also Lt.
Commander in the Navy, flying the last squadron of Lockheed P2-V Neptunes for
the Navy in squadron VP-18.
JJ loved his family, fishing and was a member and Sergeant of
Arms of the Kings Bay Rotary in Crystal River, FL.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a
sister, Ellen DeLucia. He is survived by his wife, Christine C.
Healy
of Crystal River, FL; two sons, Joseph Healy (Anne) of St.
Petersburg, FL and Edward Healy (Jessica) of Charleston, SC; one
brother, Martin Healy; one sister Theresa Healy DeLucia; and
four grandchildren, Ryan, Morgan, Connor and Jacob. Family will be receiving
friends on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 1 p.m. until memorial time at 3 p.m.
at the Brown Funeral Home in Lecanto, FL.
Private cremation will follow the services.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Citrus
County
Veterans Services, 2804 W. Marc Knighton Court, Key # 13,
Lecanto, FL 34461.

Captain John Morgan for sending the sad news of the death of retired DL Captain
James J. Healy, 73. J.J. was born 10/5/1941 and hired by Delta 3/14/1969. I
don't have a Florida address for him or his date of death. If anyone does,
