CROTTY, William L. “Bill”, of Winthrop, July 25, 2015. Beloved husband of Joan M. (Daigle) Crotty. Devoted father of Donna M. Crotty and her husband James Ponsetto of Marblehead, Linda A. Crotty of Winthrop, twins William J. Crotty and his wife Leslie of Watertown, CT, and Robert M. Crotty of Winthrop, and Diane M. Hennessy and her husband Michael of Reading. Adored grandfather of Jamie and Andrew Ponsetto, Billy Jr, Hanna, Shana, and Samantha Crotty, Robert, Austin and Sydney Grace Crotty, and Shea Hennessy. Dear brother of Alice and Joseph Crotty of Winthrop and the late Leo J.and Andrew J Crotty. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, on Weds, July 29, at 9am. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will follow in Winthrop Cemetery-(Belle Isle Section). Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Tues, from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cottage Park Yacht Club Youth Sailing Program 1 Baker Sq. Winthrop, MA 02152 or to the Chelsea Soldiers Home Patient Recreation Fund 91 Crest Ave. Chelsea, MA, 02150. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Suffolk University. Bill was a member of the Cottage Park Yacht Club and the Pleasant Park Yacht Club. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Delta Airlines for over 40 years as a Crew Scheduler and was a member of the Delta Pioneers.
