___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Obituary..............
Thomas Orrin Pugh was born to Helga J. and Gilbert O. Pugh on June 30, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri.  He died of complications of Parkinson's on August 25, 2015.  We will miss the twinkle in his eyes and his indomitable spirit.
 He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue (Hendricks) Pugh and their children, daughter Kirstin L. Pugh (Scott Romer), and son Michael A. Pugh (Allison Reynolds).  He will be missed by grandchildren Eleanor and Henry and by his brothers, Randy and Dennis, plus many family members and friends.
  Tom had a great childhood and has many lifelong friends from Northeast Kansas City, Missouri.
 He attended the University of Kansas on a Navy ROTC scholarship and graduated from KU in 1964.
 Tom was a Vietman-era Navy pilot and a commercial pilot for Delta Airlines.  He was a speaker of Chinese and Japanese, an eager traveler, an observer of all things political, and he loved to engage in discussions.  He was a friend of old people and small children.
  Tom, we will always treasure you.
 Memorial contributions may be made to the Dwight G. Rickman Navy Scholarship Fund at the University of Kansas or to the OHSU Parkinson's Center.

Dave;
Just got off the phone with Tom & Sue Pugh; Not sure if any on the guys have contact with him. Tom has Vascular Parkinson; Sue says he gets around with a walker and they use a wheel chair when getting out; he said his eye sight is being affected. I talked with Tom and ask if he wanted to get on the ORD e-mails list and he did; Sue will retrieve and relate the information to him; I am sure he would appreciate the contact with the guys of his ORD days.  Sue's e-mail address is
carolynpugh@me.com ; their ph is 360-546-3052.  Ken Thomas=

Hi Dave,
  This was a kind gesture.  I just wanted to correct the typo on our phone number.  The area code here is 360 so the whole number is 360-546-3052.  Thanks.
  Tom's condition is one of the -isms.  Symptoms like those of idiopathic Parkinson's Disease but without essential tremor.  His neurologist diagnosed "Vascular Parkinsonism" about three years ago, by using MRI results.  I think George Schindelar suffered from the same syndrome.
  We have fond memories of our Chicago years.  Hope you are doing well.  I keep up with some of the Chicago area news via a couple of "facebook friends" who are from our kids' generation.  (Social media for the 70+ generation!  Who knew?)
  I'm sure Tom would enjoy being on the ORD e-mail list.  He may have been on it for a while.  He had an earthlink.net address but no longer uses that address or his office computer - actually cannot even get upstairs to his office.  Guess that's it.  Thanks, Dave.  Sue Pugh
