Jack Cantrell was born 9/15/1923, was hired by Delta 2/26/1951 and was based in ATL.  His wife Ann died May 19, 2012. ==========================================

Captain Jack Cantrell passed on 2-18-2016. Delta Golden Wings member. He was about 92 years old. Write up in the Atlanta paper.   Julian

CANTRELL, Jack Jack Cantrell earned his final and most glorious set of wings on Thursday, February 18th. Jack died in his home in Duluth Georgia with his daughters and grandchildren at his side. Born in Atlanta to Chlothhilde and William Moreland on September 15, 1923. Jack married the love of his life twice. They eloped September 30, 1942 before Jack entered the Navy. On August 8, 1944 they wed after dad earned his first pair of wings in Pensacola Florida. Married until Ann's passing May 19, 2012. Their love story created eleven children, 26 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Jack Moreland, Patricia Irene, Carol Ann, Susan Allen, Diane Gay, Carter Holloway, Karen Marie, Connie Lynn, Stephen Scott, Leslie Kay and Ansley Paige. After the Navy, World War II and the Korean War, Jack and Ann returned to Atlanta where their lives were rich with children, Braves Games, travel and DELTA AIRLINES. Captain Jack treated his family to Disney World and Land as well as numerous experiences flying all over the country. His undying love and devotion to his wife and children made this legendary family thrive. In appreciation of Jack's love and devotion for children the family appreciates donations to Angel Flight Foundation, headed up by his first born, Jack, and to the Childrens Hospital of Atlanta. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday February 21, 2016. 

Visitors are welcome at 1:00 at the Sandy Springs Chapel. The service will begin at 2:00. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy. Sandy Springs, Ga. 30328
