Obituary...............................
Timberg, Charles Fredrick Jr., 91, of Mound, MN & Scottsdale, AZ, passed away Oct. 2, 2015. Charlie graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1942 and in October that year enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an aviation cadet. After receiving his wings, he became a carrier based fighter pilot in the Pacific and served as a Navy Test Pilot in San Diego, CA. In 1957 Charlie was hired by North Central Airlines as a pilot and had a 27 year airline career, retiring as a Captain with Republic Airlines in 1984. Charlie also flew for the U.S. Air Force during the Berlin Crisis, Vietnam, and retired as a Lt. Col. in the MN Air National Guard. After retirement, Charlie's interests turned to classic automobiles. He was involved with several car clubs and competed successfully in car rally's and car shows, winning many awards. Of his collection, his favorite car was the 1937 Cord. Charlie is survived by his wife Patty of Mound, MN and Scottsdale, AZ; children, Charlie Timberg (Kathy) of Spring Park MN; Tom Timberg (Julie) of Lake Oswego, OR; Daniel Timberg (MaryAnn) of Mound, MN; Tracy Fink (Mitch) of Mesa, AZ; daughter-In-Law Kathy McEnaney of Mound, MN; eight grandchildren, Allison Miller (Nick) of Fond du Lac, WI; Chuck (Matt) of Scottsdale, AZ; Michelle Fink of Scottsdale, AZ; Nick Fink of West Hollywood, CA; Paige Timberg of Conway, SC; Will, Pete, Lou Timberg of Mound, MN; great-granddaughter Morgan Miller of Fond du Lac, WI. Charlie was preceded in death by his son John Timberg, sister Dorothy Thorson, brother Bill Timberg, and Phyllis Timberg, mother of his children. Private interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on October 16 with Military honors. Open house for family and friends to gather will be held on Saturday, October 17 from 1-3 pm at Al & Alma's Supper Club (5201 Piper Rd, Mound, MN). .
