In Memory of Jack D. Hendricks
April 28, 1934 - March 11, 2016

Jack D. Hendricks, 81 of Huntington passed away at 12:05 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Parkview Huntington Hospital. Jack was a commercial pilot for Delta Airlines for 28 years retiring in 1994. Jack was a 1952 graduate of Huntington High school; he also attended Indiana Tech and the University of Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1963; he went through the Cadets program where he become a pilot. He also flew in the Air Guard at Fort Wayne and Madison, WI. Over the years Jack flew 18 different types of Aircraft. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Jack enjoyed playing golf, watching the NCAA Basketball Tournament, his favorite sports teams were the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Cubs and the Duke Blue Devils basketball team. He greatly enjoyed chocolate milkshakes.
 
Jack was born on April 28, 1934 in Huntington, IN a son of Jesse Hendricks and Mildred A. Stults.
He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Smart on January 15, 1958 in Fort Wayne. His wife survives.
 
Additional Survivors include two Sons: Jeffrey Hendricks of Atlanta, GA and Gregory (Liz) Hendricks of Minneapolis, MN; a grandson: Piers Byron of Wales, UK. 3 Sister-in-laws: Sally Hendricks of South Bend, Al Hendricks of Huntington and Pam Smart of Avon Park, FL. A brother-in-law: Bob Smart of Huntington and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Robert Hendricks and Richard Hendricks and his parents.
 
A Memorial service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN with Don Rentschler officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday.
 
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial donations can be made out to the  American Heart Association  or to the Donor's Choice, sent in care to Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.
