Notification with the passing of retired Delta Air Lines Flight Controller Mr. Norman 'Sam' Sampson, age 84.  Sam is survived by his wife Helen, their children and their grandchildren.

Obituary for Norman Dean Sampson ..................................
Norman “Sam” Dean Sampson, age 84, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at his home in Newnan surrounded by family. He was born on January 16, 1932 in Clairmont, Iowa to the late John Andrew Sampson and Ella Louise Sampson.
Sam spent four years in the United States Air Force and during his time in the military he was stationed in Alaska and worked for Alaskan Airlines. He was a founding member of the Red Oak Athletic Association on Welcome All Road in Red Oak GA. Sam worked for Delta Airlines for 37 plus years and retired as a Flight Controller.
Along with his parents Sam is preceded in death by his grandson Christopher Lindsey and his beloved Cookie dog.
Sam is survived by his loving wife Helen Odom Sampson, son Michael Sampson and his wife Elizabeth, daughter Marsha Sampson and son Mark Sampson and his wife Michelle. Sam is also survived by grandchildren, Mitchell Wolfe, Justin Lindsey, Ryan Wolfe, Kristen Harris, Jared Sampson, Jonah Sampson and Jaydin Sampson. He is also survived by his sister Mearle Lee of Seattle, WA.
The graveside service is Saturday, May 7th at 11 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan with Rev. Brian Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM at McKoon Funeral Home.
