___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Roger Harry Miller

Memphis, TN

Roger Harry Miller, 78, passed away April 19, 2016. Born in Minnesota, Roger was an esteemed captain who retired with 30 years of service with Northwest Airlines. He qualified for The Wright Brothers' Award and was a member of both Quiet Birdmen and Al Chymia Temple. Roger possessed impeccable skills as a pilot and mechanic (a.k.a., Sam Smith). He will be forever remembered for his love and restoration of antique aircraft and cars, his affinity for pranks, his dry sense of humor, making others laugh, for being a great neighbor and for his love of scotch. Remembrance will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home (5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis TN 38119) 3pm to 5pm, Saturday, April 23, 2016. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Roger's favorite charities: Shriners' Children's Hospital or the Humane Society of America
