DL Capt., Col James L. Bode

WWII & Korean war veteran, DL Captain, Col. James L. Bode
May 14, 1924  ~  June 13, 2016
 
Notification with the passing of Delta Golden Wings member retired Delta pilot Col. James Laurell Bode, age 92.  Col. Bode joined Delta Air Lines 11-09-1950.  He was widowed in January 2010 with the passing of his late wife Lenor..... obituaries appear below.   
Col. Bode and his wife Millie resided in Union City, Georgia.

Life legacy.................................James L. BODE
Col. James L. Bode of Union City went to be with the Lord June 13, 2016. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Mr. Bode was a retired Captain with Delta Airline having served for 32 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lenor Staver Bode and grandson, Brent Bode and is survived by his wife, Millie Bode of Union City; sons, Jay L. Bode and Margie of Woodstock; Mark T. Bode and Julie of Griffin; Ted E. Bode and Vicki of Topsham, ME; Kim Bode and Elaine of College Park; grandchildren, Brooke Tryan; Mandy Spence; Ryan Bode; Tyler Bode; Clayton Bode; Luke Bode and Casey Bode; great grandchildren, Avery Tryan; Bode Spence; Brady Spence; Emily-Kate Spence; Owen Tryan and Nolan Bode and numerous extended family members and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 1 o'clock at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Daniel Schepmann officiating. Inurnment will be at Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, 700 Ardenlee Pkwy., Peachtree City, GA 30269.

Mrs. Lenor Staver Bode of Union City, was called to her eternal reward on Monday, January 11, 2010. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Brent Bode and is survived by her husband, James L. Bode of Union City; sons, Jay L. Bode and his wife Margie of Woodstock; Mark T. Bode and his wife Julie of Griffin; Ted E. Bode and his wife Vicki of Topsham, ME; Kim Bode and his wife Cindy of College Park; grandchildren, Brooke Tryan, Mandy Spence, Ryan Bode, Tyler Bode, Clayton Bode, Luke Bode, Casey Bode; great grandchildren, Avery Tryan, Bode Spence. Children of Rev. Jeff and Cheryl Ehlers, Megan, Josh and Emily, and Zachary and Alexa, children of Rev. Scott and Jan Bruick, are loved as grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 3 o'clock at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Schepmann officiating.
