___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Can you get this posted to the RNPA site as soon as possible, please?  Jack
Allen did not belong to RNPA but was a colorful member of the NWA family, a
classmate of mine, and an F-8 Crusader pilot and Vietnam veteran.

Services for Jack will be at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL
this coming Friday, Sept 30, 2016 and the details follow.  Due to heightened
security, the funeral director at Rose Lawn Funeral home requests that
anyone attending please arrive at the Rose Lawn Funeral Home by 0930 in
order to get through NAS Pensacola security as a funeral procession with a
police escort.  Otherwise, it can take two hours per car.  Rose Lawn Funeral
Home is located at 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL and the phone
is 850-677-4455.  . Rose Lawn is on the north side of Hwy. 98 about 6-7

From: RNPA News    Sent: Sunday, July 03, 2016 10:02 AM   Subject: Jack Allen Has Flown West

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of a classmate and good friend, Jack Allen.  He and I were best friends for many years and I have just received an email from his wife, Karen, that Jack died of a massive heart attack the evening of July 2, 2016.  He had suffered with Parkinson's for the past six years, had undergone surgery for a broken back as the result of a recent accident, and succumbed to a heart attack last night.

Jack was one of the more "memorable characters" on our airline roster, was a gifted aviator, a former Navy F8 Crusader pilot and Vietnam veteran, and a very colorful friend of mine, class of NWA August 1968.

He is not on the RNPA rolls so I wanted to at least let those among us who were his friends know about his passing.

Blue skies,
Lyle Prouse
