Notification with the passing of retired Northeast/Delta pilot
Captain Richard ‘Dick’ Louis Houghton, age 84. Captain Houghton joined
Northeast Airlines 12-18-1957 and retired with Delta Air Lines. He is survived
by his wife Judy and daughter Kim.

Island, Florida 34145
Richard "Dick" Houghton of Isle of Capri, Florida passed
peacefully on January 16, 2017 with his wife Judy and daughter Kim by his
side.
He was preceded in death by his son Hunter Houghton, father
Brigadier General Junius Houghton, mother Hazel Houghton and his six siblings.
Dick is survived by his wife Judy Houghton of Isle of Capri, Florida; daughter
Kim Houghton of Arlington, Virginia; and daughter Amy Raven Glave of Richmond,
Virginia.
Born July 1, 1932 in Hershey, Pennsylvania to a long line of
career military, Dick attended the University of Miami and then joined the Navy
where he became a Lieutenant JG Navy Pilot.
After retiring from the Navy, he worked as pilot for Delta
Airlines serving as a Captain for 25 years.
Dick spent much of us life in the Everglades that he loved
since he was a boy. Throughout his life he was an avid hunter and supporter /
defender of The Big Cypress National Preserve.
A Memorial Service to honor Dick's life will take place on
Saturday January 21st, 11:00am at Hodges Josberger Funeral Home 577 E Elkcam
Cir, Marco Island, FL 34145. Burial services to follow at Marco Island Cemetery.
Afterwards a reception will be held at the funeral home. Pastor Curt Ayers of
Isle of Capri Christian Church will officiate.
