___ PCN FLIGHT WEST is sponsored by the Pilot Communication Network and is a service of the PCN provided for the Delta Pilot Retired family of pilot groups. Flight West was started and is maintained to accomplish two main goals. After we become aware of a colleague who has Flown West, 1. We aim to produce a “timely” notice sent to our community that allows for support and interaction from our group toward the grieving family of our friend and colleague. 2. Then, we aim to “archive” that notice on our Flown West Blogspot as a lasting accessible place of Dignity and Honor of our colleague for family legacy and posterity. Contributor contact info is generally removed before posting (unless requested otherwise).

Obituary........................
Leonard Ernest Dorcas, Sr. went to be with the Lord at 10:50 in the morning on April 30, 2017 in the arms of his wife and surrounded by family at his home in Bothell, Washington at the age of 92.
Len was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Katherine, and older siblings Nellie and Margaret. He leaves his loving wife of 70 years, Alice, as well as five children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
After high school, Len joined the Coast Guard and served in World War II as a Seaman First Class. Following his time in the military, Len was a distinguished 747 Captain for Northwest (Orient) Airlines, spending the majority of his career flying overseas. Len retired from flying in 1984. Len and Alice spent their years enjoying time on their boats and RVs alongside their family in some of their favorite places like the Oregon Coast and the Gulf Islands/Desolation Sound. The highlight of Len's retirement was any time spent with his family, especially grandkids.
Len's funeral will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Saturday, May 6th at 11am. A graveside service at Floral Hills Cemetery and celebration of life at Purdy and Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Lynnwood, WA will follow the service.

Special thanks to the staff at Bonadventure North Creek for their help and compassion towards the Dorcas family during this time. In lieu of flowers, donate to your favorite Veterans Charity.;
